Changes vs Bombers?

Ellard actually worked his way into the game in the second half, and should definitely keep his spot.

As should Johnson. He's been in our best 5 or 6 the last two weeks easily. Hits the contest hard, and has great disposal. Really think in a good side, he could be a huge player.

I'm torn aboout what to do with Waite. He plays well up forward, however, I think his reading the play on the half back line is way more important. If our team is playing well, our forward line is good enough to kick a score without him up there. I think he is more valuable to have him down back.

As for Austin, even if he hasn't been playing that well, he's a big defender. We don't need him getting 20 touches. We just need him to lock someone down. He's only going to develop playing against AFL quality players.

Fisher did ok. I thought his tackling and second efforts were actually fantastic. There was one instance he went to ground, but thats because he was chopped across the arms in the marking contest, and didn't get the free.

IN NO WAY SHOULD HENDERSON BE DROPPED. He is our future. If he gets half decent delivery, he will take 10 marks a game.

Hampson is a strange one. He looks hopeless for 110 minutes per game, but then does a couple amazing things and that keeps the interest there. Personally, I don't think he'll end up any good, but he probably needs to be in the side if we are ever going to see if he can become good.

Houlihan definitely needs to come back in. Maybe Setanta too, if he is running a little more freely now. We could stretch their defence with some tall athletic inclusions. Can't afford to be slow against this lot.

Hate to say it, but Jamison was terrible yesterday. I always like to try to defend our backline when we get smashed, because it is often the poor pressure upfield by our midfield and half forwards that leads to good delivery to opposition forward lines. That said, he was shite yesterday, and it is becoming a recurring theme. His development has stalled. Maybe a week rest would be of benefit. Austin couldn't play any worse, and needs to be in the team. I would want Jammo back after a week off though. Just may need a break.

Please please please drop Carazzo. He is terrible. He has had his moments over the last few years, but his time with Carlton should be over. We cannot afford 3 bad decision makers with poor footskills playing in one team. Happy to play Ellard, and keep giving AJ a run. He does have the potential to be a good midfield tagger. Is terrible overhead though, so shouldn't be playing as a deep defender.

After seeing the Ants:
In:
Austin - Played full forward, hit the contest hard and had 2 shots (1 goal) before moving to CHB and performing well.
Thornton - Best player for the Ants by far. Most influetnial anyway. Played Loose-man and did it really really well
Armfield - Missed the hardness, and run and carry, Automatic in.

That is the thing with Thorntan though, as a looseman he is good because he generally has good kicking skills and can set up play well, but when in the seniors and playing on a man which he will have to do, he looks average again. Too good for the 2s, not good enough for the seniors.

I'm over making lots of changes. What's the point. The predictable thing will be to bring back Robinson and Thorton - for what gain. A bit of toughness from Robbo but still the same mistakes and lack of skill.

I think we should approach the next few weeks as if we are going to play finals and just settle the team down.

Apart from injuries I would make ZERO CHANGES.

Put the acid back on the same 22 - openly (amongst the team) name the players who dogged it yesterday and see if they respond.

What have we got to lose ? Bringing in Robinson for Joseph or Thornton for Henderson is just re-arranging the deckchairs on the Titanic.

Play Waite at CHF, Henderson at FF - Gibbs into the centre for Judd, put Joseph back in a pure tagging role and hope Jamison and Bower can do the job down back with Gumby out.

Its too late for major changes now. After yesterday, sides are going to come at us hard.

Let's see if this 22 have the stones to meet the challenge or clear them out !

Sorry, but If any other player put the performances that Gibbs has put in over the last month they wouldn't be in the team. He's been poor. Should be dropped.

Have been saying it for a long time but Austin is a MUST in.

His last two weeks have shown an improvement. Thought he was solid on the weekend. Shouldn't be dropped.

Judd possibly out if he has torn some pectoral muscle?

Possibly Houlihan back

Armfield,Thornton,Robinson and Austin may get a call if anyone else dropped love to see Davies get a game but may not be ready just yet.

Beg to differ on that B4F. Still shanking the ball and having minimal impact on games. Far and away from his best form. Not working hard enough.

Not near his best form but better than he was in the weeks prior. What I did notice against the Weagles in particular was that he was encouraging teammates at every opportunity, something I haven't seen from him (or most others) in the past.

Thought his ball use was very good on the weekend and the stats agree. Composure was up despite the pressure. 95% DE (shit stat, I know), which is his best effort of the season. He's never going to be at his most damaging playing accountably in defence but he did his job. Can't comment much on his defensive running as it's hard to pick up on the TV.

Outs: Murphy(make a statement that not chasing and tackling is not acceptable)
Garlett (may need a rest, did not get to the fall of the ball in the fwd line at all)

Ins: Robinson
Davies/Hadley
Players with commitment and don't mind a bit of body on body

I would like to see......NO CHANGE.

Rather than punish individuals for an entirely inept team performance, and rather than hide behind one or several superficial changes to get the balance right, the same group should be tested for resolve to see if they can get up and contest the footy this week. Keep the team the same and tell them that it is their responsibility to fix the way we are playing. Setanta for Fisher or Houlihan for Ellard is not going to fix what was wrong against Collingwood. The players need to take ownership of their performances.

The statement you make when you're not making a statement...I've heard crazier suggestions.

Need to make room for at least one. I hope they have Mitch locked up in a cage deep within the bowels of the Heatley stand, sporadically poking him, singing off key, and recounting what some Essendon guy said about his mum. Unleash hell Mitch.

We where a much better side with Setanta and Houlihan in our forward line, than the crap we have been playing with there.

Our backline was still much better than what it is now without Thorton there, he wasn't the problem. The problem is we get it into our forward line and we have Hendo and Hammer's that don't know what a Mark is, or a tackle. I bagged Hampson on here week's ago and got called a troll, he not a forward, and now Wallsy and Kouta have finally come and told Ratt's bring Setanta back and leave him there and if anyone one get's in his way to crash into them, and not to worry if he got reported, you know the saying take one for the team. He has the grunt we need so does Waite, but when he show's it he get's abused, where I love the aggression he show's and the rest of the team showed take a leaf out of his agression.

How many time's did you get mad watching the ball coming out of our forward line, so easily, I know it pissed me right off and has done for week's now. Seriously I knew we wouldn't do anything with Fisher, Hampson and Hendo being our Forward's, and for those that didn't know it are dreamer's.
Hendo, and Hampson average's under 10 touches every game, 1 tackle, so seriously how do people on here expect us to win, Thornton kicked more goal's than them when he floated into the forward line, and I for 1 am sick of seeing Hampson and Hendo in our forward line and don't get me started on Fisher. I'll let you get back to bagging the rest of the player's because they arn't to blame going by what is writen on BF.

Robinson, Armfield, Touhy and Davies will have to be considered. It's a pit Mclean and Lucas aren't ready so Scotland and Carrazzo can be given the arse.

Scotland rolled an ankle and has been one of our best all year. Taht said I dont think he's the sort of player to star when we're struggling generally.

Thornton must come into the side. Jamison should be dropped by won't be as he's part of the leadership group, he's terribly out of form and it's awful to watch.

Waite should be at CHF.

Robinson should come in as well (thought he was unlucky to be dropped) but rumour has it that he's out of favour with Ratts. Mitch is not perfect but at least he goes in hard and has a crack - we need that in our team.

Id say Jamison is a 6/10 for the year and Thornton is a 3/10.

If you're looking for defensive reasons for the loss I'd start in the midfield. yes Bower lost a few one on ones and looked stupid but that ball supply was continuous. Our defence did OK, our mids and forwards crumbled.
