I would say the only definite out would be Johnson

Copped a massive bake after the game and was one guy who was quickly out the door post the extended coach/player meeting

Defensive skills are just not up to AFL level

We should line up like this.

B: Armfield Jamison Walker
HB: Russell Bower Touhy
C: Simpson Grigg Murphy
HF: Yarran Waite Gibbs
F: Betts Henderson Hampson
OB: Warnock Davies Judd
IC: Ellard Johnson Garlett Robinson
EM: Austin Casboult Joseph

IN:
Davies, Robinson, Touhy, Armfield

OUT:
Scotland, Carrazzo, Joseph, Fisher

We must let Ellard lose or play him on Watson. Pissoff average senior players like Scotland and Carrazzo. Give Joseph a spell in the seconds playing as an on baller then bring him back as an onball player for Carlton if he performs. He's a midfield tagger, too weak in the air for a defender.

Bring in some young tough players who have everything to play for and are our future like Robinson, Ellard, Touhy and Davies who have a bit of ability, strong bodies for their age and have plenty to play for and will probably have a crack. Try and get Gibbs and Murphy out of the center becaue they wont put their bodies in, want to play noncontact footy and won't win the hard ball so stick some blokes in there like Ellard, Judd, Davies, Grigg and Robinson who might and rotate them heavily to keep them fresh. Let Gibbs and Murphy run around and get easy kicks if they will only play that style.

Now is the time to move on with old hacks and replace them with youth and see if we can get the same results from a team of kids that Richmond and Melbourne are getting at the moment. We must do it to save our season.

I just feel it will be the same old thing we see after every bad loss. It will be Thornton, Hadley, Houlihan and Robinson in. Ellard, Johnson, Fisher and Walker or something stupid like that out. Every time we swing the axe we bring in crap old players who in a few weeks we will all be complaining about, who will let us down and who will be dropped and replaced by the players that they replaced. For once, I hope our MC shows some balls and drops the real problem players like Carrazzo and Scotland and will dropp Gibbs or Murphy if they don't put in. They must start blooding and developing the young players like Davies, Touhy, Ellard, Warnock, Casboult and Robinson. Our MC must stop going back to old hacks like we do every clean out. We must not take it out on the scape goat, fringe player who really isn't to blame. When we lose big it's our core players who are to blame, not the ones who cop the punishment and get dropped.

Agree with letting Ellard run loose. Ellard has always been a very offensive player. That's not to say he doesn't work hard the other way, but lets let him play to his strengths this week.

You can't make a distinctions such as a "midfield tagger". You need to understand that he has a glaring weakness in his game and everybody knows that. All anybody does if he gets the upper hand is take him deep forward. The quality taggers such Cornes and Ling have enough aerial skills to make it pointless to drop back.

The plan is obviously to develop him as midfielder in his own right but he isn't there yet and a short spell in the magoos isn't going to get him there.

This is why Carrazzo is assured of his spot in the team. Carrazzo is as good around the ground and is better in the air. He will remain safe for another year or two while Joseph develops his aerial abilities and learns to hurt teams going the other way.

Carrazzo represents everything that Carlton is at the moment. He is soft, he plays noncontact football, he doesn't hurt players with his posessions, he doesn't have the pace to run and carry the ball. He's just an average player who looked good in an average side. He doesn't put his body on the line and he like many of our senior leaders are doing a great job of leading by example as many of our players are following this.

Ellard has been playing as an attacking inside onballer roving the ruckman and winning contested footy and been doing it well. What always annoys me is when a player has been doing really well doing one thing in the VFL then is brought in and made to do something different. We really only got something out of Ellard when we let him do what he had been doing.

What's the point? Whenever he gets the ball it's almost a certain turnover especially when he's under the slightest amount of pressure. Not hard at it and can't kick. Sorry but I think he needs to go if we are to improve. Trade him to GC for some draft picks, they'll take him.

Should just email this to ratts and the mc. Spot on

Having watched/read some of the reactions post match I guess perhaps I didn't gauge Scotto's efforts and over stated CJ2's effort...so would probably change my outs from before to this:

IN: Austin, Robinson, Armfield
OUT: Carrazzo, Johnson, Joseph

FB: Austin, Jamison, Russell
HB: Armfield, Waite, Bower
C: Simpson, Grigg, Gibbs
HF: Yarran, Henderson, Walker
FF: Betts, Fisher, Garlett
Foll: Warnock, Judd, Ellard

I/C: Hampson, Murphy, Robinson, Scotland

Armfield > Davey
Bower > Monfries
Jamo > Hille
Waite > Neagle
Russell > Riemers
Austin > Hardingham

Give Murphy a run with role and tell him to attack when needed (what his opponents have been doing as of late)

AND PLEASE RATTEN, GIVE OUR MIDFIELDERS/HF'ERS SOMEONE TO KICK TO INSIDE THE 50!!!! ISOLATE FISH IN THE SQUARE AND LET HIM CLUNK A FEW!!

p.s. Try not doing the same thing we've done the past few times ;)

Backline would be a bit tall but I trust our talls more than our smalls to do a good job.

B: Armfield Jamison Walker
HB: Russell Bower Davies
C: Simpson Grigg Yarran
HF: Murphy Waite Garlett
F: Betts Henderson Fisher
OB: Warnock Judd Carrazzo
IC: Johnson Jacobs Houlihan Ellard

IN:
Jacobs, Armfield, Houlihan, Davies

OUT:
Scotland, Hampson, Joseph, Gibbs

Ins:

I'm biased but I'd like to see Jacobs back in along side Warnock and see if we can get a similar chemistry that we had with Jacobs and Kreuzer. .. I haven't forgotten that Jacobs body in 'tandem' marking contests helped Kreuzer find some marking form earlier in the season and could do the same for Warnock. .. Plus Jacobs is a fine tap ruckman in the making. ..

Armfield almost picks himself. .. want down while putting his body on the line for the team. .. Houlihan would add that much needed class and presence in the forward line and take some heat off Fisher/Waite/Hendo. ..

As for Davies don't know a lot about him but from what I've read, I want to see him have a go. ..

Outs:

Send a message and drop some soft 'senior' players to get some form in the 2s. .. Gibbs, especially and Scotland probably need a wake up call. .. I wanted to drop Carrazzo but think he is perfect to nullify and antagonise their midfield and did a good job on Davey last time. .. Hampson isn't finding it and I want Jacobs and Houla back in. .. and Joseph could use some time in the 2s to develop his own game instead of getting stale sacrificing it each week. ..

And yet Carrazzo is still our best tagger and still in our best 22. It makes no sense to drop him for a worse player.

Joesph is hard at it but gives away frees, doesn't win enough of the ball and butchers it just as bad if not worse. GC wouldn't touch Carrazzo. He is a good tagger and a good depth midfielder for an established side but he is nothing special. Every team has a Carrazzo so why take the older version who bleeds Blue when you can find someone 5 years younger who would love to move to QLD?

Sorry, going to have to jump in here and defend AJ. Bar the pies game which I haven't seen you'll have to give some examples as AJ's kicks find the target more often than not. Agree he doesn't win enough of his own ball and tends to get caught with the ball in tight but...

Re Carrots, has polarised posters thats for sure. Played a great game against the Saints when he completely shut down Del Santo and from memory played the first few quite well before Juddy came back but has also played a fair bit of crap.

I'm not fussed either way; if the mc drop him so be it, if he stays he's just as likely to have a good game.

I love Carlton, so give me a game.

Maybe I can defend Peter Dean with an emotional comment...

If Carrazzo bled navy blue, he would put his body on the line like Ratten or Brown so Judd and Simpson aren't run down.

Joseph ran hard just to block for Grigg so he had the time to hit Garlett in the Swans game.

Grigg and Robinson block.

Carrazzo just stood around looking for a cheap kick as Davis ran past Pendlebury and smashed Simpson on the HFF.

Toovey blocked Walker's run to help Simpson.
