The defence up until the Essendon game had been fantastic but an undersized group will always be eventually exposed, you've had a taste of it happening Ken tweak it now or god forbid it happens in a final!

Re Dougal, I missed the Maggies live as I was still in Melb but I did pay Westies/snafl for the live pass. Watch Dougal in the warm up. That's what I want to see. No wonder he played well.Atley and Howard should be definite in's. Atley has had an amazing month of footy and deserves a spot and Howard would clearly make us a better team. The good thing about Howard is that he has played solid down back and forward now since his return. His performance on the weekend may have been against a very poor oppo but was still very impressive. 24 touches, 11 marks and 8 goals!! Wowee.
I dunno about Young, he's already come back in after a really strong performance in the SANFL and let us down. Needs to string at least 3 good games in a row.
White, Neade, Palmer and Houston should come under consideration too.
Not sure exaclty who come out because it was a an all round crap performance on the weekend, with hardly any contributors at all. But i think it will be a nervous wait for Hartlett, Impey, Ah Chee, Toumpas, S Gray.
Even Boak should be nervous about selection night, he hasn't really been good this year but i think perhaps play him more through the middle before dropping him. Dropping the captain would be a massive statement but i'm going to back him in to respond.

I feel a bit for Eddy, he's been in good form too and has been ignored but in one game where spots were up for grabs he has his quietest SANFL game for the year and Dougal Howard completely destroys it to storm past him at lightning speed in the pecking order.
Hard to see Eddy get a game unless Dixon or Howard get injured now, which is obviously not what any of us want to happen, but i can't help but feel a sorry for Eddy.
Absolutely. I agree with you. Plus i rate Doogs a little higher irrespective of age.Agree with you but:
Dougal Howard is 21, Brett Eddy is 27
Dougal Howard is 199cm, Brett Eddy is 193cm
I'd rather us give the taller younger forward the game time.

True but it will cost us in close games as well just a matter of timeIt's because we've defended well as a group all season.
Any backline, regardless of height, were going to get busted up with the ball coming in like that and from the corridor like it was on Saturday night.

Not far off actually but I would drop Pittard and keep Westhoff for flexibility reasons. e.g. play in defence as a tall when Trengove rucks allowing Paddy to rest in fwd line. I just don't want to ruck Doogs at all. Plus Pittard needs a giant cracker up his clacker and maybe in the maggies for 2-3 games if his attitude and hunger don't improve.what id like to see on the team sheet vs Brissy
B DBJ (on thin ice) - Trengove - Jonas
HB Broadbent (on thin ice) - Hombsch - Houston
C Ebert - Wines - Polec
HF Impey (on thin ice) - Howard - Palmer
F R Gray - Dixon - Marshall
Fol Ryder - Boak (stay in the guts) - Wingard
Int SPP, Pittard (on thin ice), Atley, Clurey
Out
Hartlett, Westhoff, S gray, Toump, Ah Chee
IN Houston, Howard, Marshall, Atley, Palmer
Agreed but Worsfold came out and said that they literally set about exploiting the height of our defence.
"We knew they were short down back so we tried to exploit that".
And more coaches than Worsfold would have said that. Our smaller KPD's have been supported by the mids most games but one of the gorilla types has have kicked their 4 or 5 goals against us in half the games. When the mids don't stop the fast movement of the ball, our short KPD's are exposed and when 2 or 3 jump to support each other sometimes the smart smaller opposition forward know they are free and are able to crumb the packs and get a shot on goal away.Agreed but Worsfold came out and said that they literally set about exploiting the height of our defence.
