Prediction Changes vs. Brisbane

This trust shit pisses me off. I think it was tribey that said this group has a semi final win over Freo and a 3 point loss in a prelim 3 years ago as their track record. We're not talking about premiership heroes, whatever trust was built in 2014 has long since evaporated.

The semi-final against Freo is remembered a little too fondly as it is because of the comeback. We were getting absolutely belted in the first half but they couldn't convert (kicking 6.11) which kept us in it.

To be 6 and 5 having had no injuries this year is to me an a sad reflection on the coaching staff and the culture of the playing group.

Dress it up however you want but a decent list (which I thought we had) with no injuries should have at least 2 more in the wins column. They can dribble all the bs about consistency but for mine a good list reasonably coached basically unchanged for 5 years with no injuries should be higher on the ladder.

At this rate we are looking at 12 - 10 (Ken says most years that gets you finals).

Not good enough.

Have heard more than one of our greats speak a few times about successful teams two things come to mind in relation to this team. Have put it into my words but hopefully you get the gust

One - When it is your turn you go. You put your head or your body etc on the line. Everyone on the team knew that or they were not in the team long. Can this team say that?

Two- Win or lose you faced the fans. You feared losing. If Boydman said no leaders faced the fans in Melbourne that is a disgrace.

In regards to the game we can't make wholesale changes because of our game plan but for me at a minimum it needs to be something along the lines of Doogs and a debutant (Atley) don't care who is out.

Smashing Brisbane and an "honourable" loss to Collingwood is not consistency it is bullshit.

End rant.

Well young is deffo in and Dougal definitely isn't
Yeah I can't see Dougal coming in until Ken realises that we need more height down back and that he's definitely failing up forward. As good as Doogs was he has only played 1 game up forward since his return, I think they'll want to see more than that. No matter what we think.

It pisses me off though because Hombsch, Jonas & Clurey as a combo is failing. It has all year in the big games. Holding nothing teams to low scores is fudging the figures. At the end of the day we need a better balance, we need a taller option like Trengove, Austin or Howard amongst the 3 backs.

When we look back at this era in, say, 5-10 years, I'm not sure we'll have any idea what to make of it.

Such a brilliant, promising start, and then a cavalcade of defeats while raging favourites. Already mentioned it a few days ago, but I'm certain we'd be top of that particular ladder from 2014-onwards.

If it's wildly confusing now it'll be forensic bedlam through the rear-window.

As above, to have a full list and be 6-5 reveals that these blokes aren't up to scratch. Peaking as a middle of the road, shit the bed team, and Ken is happy to let that run for the rest of the season. Fantastic.

Seeing that key big forwards are as rare as rocking horse shit, its a good idea to at least check him out. Playing the role may also assist his developement as a CHBack. Personally I would like to get a half a season of AFL experience into him, but maybe they don't think hes part of the best side. We are a chance, regardless of the pessimism.

I don't get the line of thinking as so "he's only gone forward in the last week or two he needs another few weeks probably" .. ffs it's football not rocket science Dougal knows how to farking play up forward pull ya head out of ya farking poo chute, what the **** is his problem with playing young tall forwards get ******

Yep, but you just know that is what they are saying internally.

I think with him, Trengove and Ryder in the same side we'd have a 3 way back, fwd, ruck rotation that'd be extremely valuable, but what do we know I guess...

Austin seems to be the forgotten man, I thought he showed plenty late last year when Hombsch and Jonas were out, those 3 sidesteps against the roos were brilliant, and something many players of his size just wouldn't be capable of doing.

Agreed that the low scores against poor teams may not be giving a true reflection of the defence's overall performance.

Gee wizz. I think some of the up-and-coming players in the Maggies should start looking for clubs now before they waste all their talent in that cesspool.

We are aware of his boneheaded fckn nature. Persisted with Lobbe/Ryder cos reasons. Was only because Lobbe became an absolute shittruck that he had to admit defeat.

This is the thing. Doogs/Houston/Palmer et al would be looking at the non-performers and thinking of the fastest route out of here. I would.

Trengove does not deserve to keep his spot as a forward. It's as simple as that. He either goes back, or gets dropped.

Pisses me off that Ken wants to "trust" this group, and "back them in". How in the holy flying **** does this group deserve any kind of trust or confidence? They've literally failed at every major hurdle, every single time. The slightest bit of expectation gets put on us and we crumble faster than you can say "Port might be a top 4 team this year" quit trying to be best buddies with everyone Ken and grow a pair.

18 months Ken has left to show us something different. Right now I'm seeing the same shit that happened every year Ken has been coach.

If Howard is not selected this week, after dominating a game like no KPF has done at this club in a very long time, even at SANFL level, then I will have lost all confidence in Ken. Doubly so if he persists with the disaster that is Trengove in the forward line.
