I really like Todd but when hes only picking up 7 disposals for a game and no goals, it may be time to drop back for a couple of weeks to find form. Was poor conditions for talls yesterday but he looks a little down.

Marshall needs to do a lot of work positioning his opponent where he wants them before the ball comes to him. We drafted him hoping for a westhoff forward but westhoff even in his first season was able to position up very well like Gray. Todd will never be in a position to overpower them if he does get in the wrong spot and easily gets bumped off the line at the moment in 50-50's. he's really only dangerous unmarked floating in or in chaos ball situation. and what AFL player isn't.

i'm happy to keep playing him and i would keep him in but he's a long way off dominating or even impacting games to extent some here want.

my gut feeling is he will need to learn how to run and run a lot. It will be another year of this form as i don't see to much improvement coming in next 20 weeks.

Personally I would would give frampton a run, he can fill the role as a marking forward. I am only suggesting Marshall drops back for a couple, looks out of sorts atm.

Lienert will benefit from the Watts injury. I worry for Howard. I think the club want him to develop more rebound, marking and attacking capabilities. He can't sit back there getting 8 touches a game.

He had a huge pre-season and is way fitter than hes ever been but he needs to add some strings to his bow.

Personally I'd consider bringing him in up forward for Marshall

We will see how pro active with changes we are in 2019 this week, will be a good test to see how much the coaching group has changed.

Frampton is the most Dixon like for like, Ryder forward structure currently not working and not sure it will.

Bringing in Mayes would'nt be a bad idea, he'll know the ground and the conditions well. Would prefer Broadbent over Dougal, he can play tall at 6'2". Hammer for Bonner and perhaps Wines for Marshall if ready.

Calls after two games that Ryder/Marshall aren't working up forward are a bit misguided I reckon. Ryder is playing impaired, Marshall had a fantastic game last week before concussion and all of our talls struggled in the wet yesterday except for Lycett who has been a revelation. Even if the only positive of our forward structure is enabling Lycett to dominate and increase the power of our midfield, I still think that's better than rolling the dice a bit with Frampton/Howard up forward. Westhoff also kicked 5 goals last week in that structure, and although he did absolutely nothing yesterday neither did Ryder or Marshall. Could've just been one of those games. It's a completely new forward structure/game-plan than last year so I'd give it some more time before judging how effective it is.

Hartlett is the right replacement for Watts in terms of game style. I have nonissue with that
