Been thinking about this one today and I actually wouldn't mind Ken Hinkley to pick S Gray for the Brisbane game .....
4 goals v Westies in a 6 goal or so win. However I didn't see the game and don't know how good that actually was. I'm a fan of Sammy but while I can't remember when he injured his ankle he didn't score multiple goals in the AFL since R9 last year. That combined with the fact he didn't challenge for a JLT2 spot would make me concerned.

IN: Wines, Hartlett
OUT: Amon, Watts

Brisbane are small and quick. We don't need the extra tall. I think HH for Watts is enough.

Going to be an interesting game, i expect Brisbane to go in favourites pending how they play today. Hopefully we can sort out some of our structural issues during the week and try and pinch the win.
We will be favourites.

Both those guys also had extended poor runs without any risk of being dropped, while we seem ready to drop KPFs after two average to poor games. That's precisely the point - double standards. Also, KPFs are hard to develop. They take time and patience.
Neade didn't have extended runs, he played badly he got dropped. Sam Gray's late 2018 run was a dud I agree, but he had a very good 2017 and first third of 2018 to rest on. Marshall has nothing besides impressive Family Day performances and 3 goal v Freo last year when everyone feasted out.

No I think we need hammer in to get the win in Brissie. Looking forward to seeing Dougal back.. integral to our structure. Great defender

Get on board, the ports train is rolling...
I am always on board...but the last decade has left me irreparably scarred. (Actually it could have been worse if it wasn't for 2004).

It's going to take more than 2 good wins to start believing again.

The new coaching panel, gameplan and youngsters have given me hope that we are heading in the right direction.

Whole club is firing. Older players turned back the clock, looking the best they have in years. Two proper ruckmen, first time in 10 years. Young players immediately making an impact. Depth in all areas of the ground...
A proper game plan based around playing proper, simple effective footy....
Finally..

If Frampton is going to provide more up forward than Marshall has in the past two weeks (which has been nothing) then it is a no brainer to pick Frampton. I'd like to think we are in the business of winning especially at this stage of the season.

Frampton needs to kick a bag this week to force Marshall out. If we are going to play them deep, as a focal point Frampton is probably better as he is bigger, stronger and a much better contested mark.

Marshall should play more high CHF, use his pace and mobility and play him to his strengths. He was poor yesterday. Hopefully he isn't listening to the talk about how good his is and is being told how hard he needs to work because nothing is more critical than how hard you work. Has hard a hard 12months so i wont be too hard on him but if he doesn't lift and Frampton does need to make the swap.

No way would he be getting games if Charlie was fit.

He. Played. Five. Consecutive. Games. Last. Year. Without. A. Single. Goal. And. Didn't. Get. Dropped.

Ignoring the posts which don't suit your argument won't make them go away.

4 goals versus Freo actually. 3 the next week versus the Swans at the SCG. 2 goals later in the year against Carlton. And it would've been two goals last week too if Westhoff hadn't marked a kick in the goalsquare which would've been a goal if he'd just let it go.

The guy you're advocating bringing in for him has only kicked multiple goals once in his career, and that's even before getting to the point that dropping Marshall for Farrell would completely wreck our structure.

Sometimes I read your posts and have no idea what team you watch every week. This is definitely one of those times.

What are you on about... He is a ruckman.

Is he a ruckman because we play him there? He looks like a natural forward to me and I'd prefer he play there more often. He isn't getting a look in with Ryder and Lycett both fit.

That's right he is the third in line back up ruckman who can swing forward while resting

Frampton 28 hitouts, ladhams 14.

The issue is he isn't an AFL standard ruckman and never will be. That decision was made by this coaching group a while ago.

So whilst you may suggest he is a ruckman because he plays there in the SANFL, it appears quite obvious that he will not be given opportunities to play ruck at AFL level unless disaster strikes.

So what are his achievements as a forward in the AFL, or for that matter the SANFL, that have him banging down the door for Marshall’s spot?

What are Marshall's achievements? Big wraps on the kid but he hasn't done anything miraculous yet. I saw enough from Frampton in round 23 last year to know he deserves another shot playing forward at AFL level.

I was merely suggesting that Frampton should be considered as a replacement for Marshall IF his form warranted it. There is nothing controversial about that.

I could ask you what are Marshall's achievements as a forward in the AFL recently that have made him a guaranteed selection and you would have donuts.
