Hammer or Howard, either would be okay imo.Hartlett is the right replacement for Watts in terms of game style. I have nonissue with that

This is spot on, I can't think of any one with genuine outside run and skill. mmmm. With Amon and Watts out for a while, Wines set to return and Wingard and Polec dirty words, our outside game will be seriously exposed in coming weeks.

People are forgetting Mayes.
No he didn't, gifted a goal from a free and missed the single opportunity he created off his own bat. And there was nothing else to compensate for that output. The head knock was quite late, he'd had ample game time to score. Furthermore nothing in the JLT to suggest last night was an aberration.... Marshall had a fantastic game last week before concussion ....

Lienert will benefit from the Watts injury. I worry for Howard. I think the club want him to develop more rebound, marking and attacking capabilities. He can't sit back there getting 8 touches a game.
He had a huge pre-season and is way fitter than hes ever been but he needs to add some strings to his bow.
Personally I'd consider bringing him in up forward for Marshall
Rozee played in the guts at clearances last week and did well. I don't know how deliberate it was from the coaching staff or whether he took himself there when the structure was mixed up. Is that what you mean?Could be opportune to give Rozzee a crack around the ball. He's about the only guy I can think of. Duursma has the outside game but not the skill.
Interesting, I had someone at the game last night pumping Broadbent's tyres up. But he was himself doing it on someone else's report who'd seen Broadie play this year. Anyway I trust your opinion. Plus I find it hard to see us ever needing Broadbent again. We showed pointless desperation in selection last year with Lindsay Thomas. I don't want to feel like that about selection this year.Based on what I saw on Friday night at Richmond Oval neither Hartlett or Broadbent are ready to come back yet .....
I looked him up on FootyWire recently and his Brisbane CV looks OK. But then he couldn't force himself into our lineup so ding, ding, alarm bells ring. Did he even play JLT1?Does he (Mayes) have pace? I picture him as a bit of a plodder but could be wrong.
Bonner isn't a hard enough defender at HBF yet. He is more a winger type. Hartlett is first in line to take his spot and Broady second. Broady is a good depth player at the moment, but its a long season and he still has enough weapons to be able to play AFL.Interesting, I had someone at the game last night pumping Broadbent's tyres up. His groundwork, field-kicking and courage were second to none though. He copped more than his fair share of big knocks and for a skinny kid who's been through a lot over the past two years it showed really good signs for his development to be attacking the ball like that. At least at this stage in his career it seems that he will never be the power marking forward that say Dixon and to a lesser extent Frampton can be, but he offers way more at ground level than Frampton does at the moment. I'd say we need to persist with him, especially under the new forward structure and system. Even if all he does is allow Westhoff to kick 5, or Ebert to kick 3... he's smart and fast enough to demand some attention and free up our other forward options. No he didn't, gifted a goal from a free and missed the single opportunity he created off his own bat. It’s quite evident that you haven’t seen him play if you like him to ToumpasI think he did. He racked up a few possessions. In my mind he's a bit of a Toumpas. Neither overly fast nor skilful. Happy to be proven wrong as I have barely seen him play.
Me tooI'm worried about Ken doing Gray for Marshall after his post game comments.
He was so quick to name Gray before Trengove.

Marshall can't mark or otherwise get hold of the ball up forward. After 2 H&A games he'd have the score of a potted plant but for one goal from a free. Until he performs at SANFL level picking him again is madness. We need to persist with Marshall at AFL level .....
Hyperbole. Name names and make your case..... Players who are far worse, far shorter, and play in positions where we have greater depth have been gifted extended runs.
Personally I would would give frampton a run, he can fill the role as a marking forward. I am only suggesting Marshall drops back for a couple, looks out of sorts atm.
Sam Gray and Jake Neade are two names that immediately spring to mind. We've persisted with poorly performing smalls for extended periods of time when we've been crying out for a tall forward, yet when a tall forward has a few poor games we seem so ready to drop him.Marshall can't mark or otherwise get hold of the ball up forward.
