Frampton has never shown anything as a forward at SANFL level. I.e. repeat leads, body positioning in a 1v1, recovery when the ball hits the deck, kicking i50.

And yet he is an apparent superstar. John Butcher all over again.

Taking the odd pack mark does not make you a good forward.
Nah that's garbage he actually does have decent forward craft Frampton I doubt you've seen much SANFL by the sound of it, he doesn't come in for Marshall though it's not the role for him.

After watching Brisbane today, Doogs should def come in over Hammer.
And if Wines not ready, I reckon SGray could fill that speedy mid role that Amon was.

IN: Wines, Hartlett
OUT: Amon, Watts

Brisbane are small and quick. We don't need the extra tall. I think HH for Watts is enough.

Going to be an interesting game, i expect Brisbane to go in favourites pending how they play today. Hopefully we can sort out some of our structural issues during the week and try and pinch the win.
Imo Hammer is not ready. Went at 1/4 pace Friday night and doesn't look confident. Removed the strapping after half time and seemed to run a bit more freely. If anything, Broady looked a lot better and closer to senior selection.

Don’t think for Brisbane we will

Wouldn’t mind seeing Trengove but Hartlett is the vice captain, if he is fit enough then he plays in my books
Fair enough but all I saw Friday night was Hammer cruising thru' the motions but he's earned the right.
On song he's best 22

Midfielder Jack Trengove starred and Hamish Hartlett made another successful return from a knee injury in Port Adelaide's 31-point win over West Adelaide in their SANFL season-opener at City Mazda Stadium on Friday night.

Ex-Demon Trengove, who last year played just three AFL games for Port in his first season with the club, was easily best-afield with 44 possessions, nine clearances, eight inside 50s, 11 tackles and a goal in windy conditions.

Forward/midfielder Sam Gray also enjoyed a superb night, collecting 33 touches and scoring 4.1.

Power vice-captain Hartlett, who underwent a knee reconstruction last April and was sidelined for the JLT Community Series with knee soreness, moved well and gathered 16 possessions.

Among the other Port players to thrive were big-bodied midfielder Joe Atley (27 touches and 11 clearances), forward Aidyn Johnson (15 touches and 1.1), the experienced Matthew Broadbent (21) and teenage little man Boyd Woodcock (20 touches and 1.2).

Wines and Howard in.
If they want Hammer in then Bonner gets dropped but I personally would like to see Hammer play another game in the Sanfl.

What the **** is going on in here?
Marshall was poor yesterday. This is true.
However, his game against Melbourne was pretty solid until he got concussed.

To say he has shown nothing is just ridiculous.

He needs to start asserting his dominance in F50 and his output needs to start trending upward.
But you aren't going to ever improve that by playing him in the SANFL.

In: Hammer, Mayes, S. Gray, Wines

Out: Watts, Amon, Marshall, SPP

Howard is not a replacement for Watts. We need someone that can consistently hit the inboard kick go Rocky and Boak.

Mayes in for injured Amon. Gray to play forward. Marshall just poor on the weekend and I think we are too tall, not enough defensive pressure. Wines has to come in and SPP has been worse than Drew over the last 2 weeks.

Yea, lets go up against a forward line of 196 Mcstay, 204 Hipwood and 204 McInerney with Jonas and Clurey. Howard must come in or our defence will get smashed.

Howard most definitely for Watts. Johnson for Amon. Is like for like in regards to speed. It’ll be crazy having both he & Butters creating pressure & havoc up forward. It’ll most likely be Wines though. Hammer for DBJ if fit enough.

Of those three, the only one who can really take contested marks is McInerney. McStay took one against North Melbourne, and their defence is crap. They rely more on athletic lead up forwards.

North Melbourne laid 38 tackles against Brisbane. 38. That's less than 10 a quarter. This was the best thing to happen for us, because we had a tough game while Brisbane has had two gimme games against weak opposition (for various reasons).

It's going to be tough, but bring back Wines and you'll see why he'll give the Brownlow a shake this year. A one two punch with him and Powell-Pepper and we can get a good win.

Not convinced Howard would be better 1 on 1 with those blokes anyway.

I like S. Gray. But if we drop Marshall for him I think I'm going to be back at offseason-tier rage
