Stiff on Peps, 21 Disposals at 76% DE and 2 goals. Add to that 8 Tackles.

If we want to go inside mid for inside mid who ever goes out will be very unlucky.

Very stiff, but the other options are (for inside mid) - Boak, Rock, Drew. It has to be out of he and Drew. I think Drew is better defensively and could very well do a job on Neale.

Spp is very much playing a line breaking role this year and one of our best doing it.

Taking him out after losing Amon would be a bad move imo


Also there is nothing surer in life than if we dropped Marshall westhoff getting smashed pillar to post for weeks for little return while our small forwards opportunities dry up as we kick it down defenders throats or into the pockets.

I would put my life on it.

The risk is making us to slow in the middle, but would be worth trialling Drew and SPP on a wing before dropping either of them.

Pretty much this, and would prob also mean we need to move Boak out to a wing. I dont think Drew or Rockliff have qualities to play outside on a wing.

I suppose last in first out is reasonable, in which case Drew is the man to suffer for Ollie. I just do not think Wines can be left out if fit.
Only other option is to retain Drew in another role, and isolate our worst performer from the weekend and sacrifice him. That would be Marshall, and Im uncomfortable with that. It would mean someone like Westhoff goes to Marshall's position and Drew to the wing maybe.
Maybe start rotating the youngsters, as will need to happen through the year. Im not comfortable with that either. Drew aint a good fit for any of the other 3 kids. And its too early to do that.
Im waffling....I'll leave it there.

Would Mayes be a chance against his old side?

Perfect for the Amon role if we want to replace like for like.

I'd almost rather leave Hammer in the SANFL and give Ollie another week off or play SANFL as well if he's fully fit. Especially when there's no like for like swap when the team is playing well.

This selection exercise is highlighting the importance of having a balanced squad that covers all roles.

Last few seasons not enough rucks.
This and likely the next few seasons not enough outside ball carriers.

We really do appear to be inside heavy, outside light, but I am regularly told we are (and will be) better off without Polec, so I can rest easy.

Hartlett seems to be the logical replacement because we lost a distributor of the ball from the back lines. It is interesting that Watts has been so good coming out of the backlines. He will be missed.
