2. I actually think Sam Gray has a valuable role to play as the 6th most talented forward in a well balanced forwardline.

A forwardline of Dixon, Ryder, Marshall, R Gray, Rozee and Sam Gray is really dangerous. Marshall get the third tall flanker defending a KPF. Sam Gray gets the loosey goosey HBF he can hurt on the counter because he is a gut-running machine.
It could work.

I can tell you for free that Sam Gray played in R1 2016 so that fact isn't quite correct. But otherwise, nice work.

You don't need to be a developed player to hit the contest as hard as you can. Marshall failed to do that and he gets dropped. Dougal dropped for the same reason. Clubs have standards and development is not a reason to keep someone who isn't hitting the contest hard enough

Sam Gray averages 18 possessions per game with a tad under 10 kicks a game. Getting the ball is not Sam's problem it is what he does or does not do with it. Sometimes we might be better off if Sam did get 5 kicks and booted 3 goals as he is capable of kicking goals.
