Out: 2004 AFL draft selection number 3, Ryan Griffen
In: 2004 AFL draft selection number 3, Lance Franklin

Very easy to say in hindsight, but Buddy was a 'speculative' pick, and Griffin was a gun in that draft year. Can't blame that one on the selectors. Shouldn't've given away draft picks the year before in return for Steven Koops, Adam Morgan, Peter Street and Lochlan Veale (The last, I think, was enforced for some reason or another: the club was always going to do it).

Of those, only Street can attest to having done something with his career. The club should've bitten the bullet, and gone for youth, rather than a short term fix. I'll admit, however, that there wasn't alot of talent in that draft, but its about drafting the right types, and Koops was hardly what we needed at that point in time.

It's called light humour!

Lachlan Veale is the name giver of the "Veale deal", trade pick number 6 for Veale to Hawthorn and they will release Jade Rawlings into the preseason draft where the dogs can take him with pick 1.

In Rocket's presser he was asked about changing personnel and said "We are not going to make knee jerk reactions" and also went on to say "The senior guys were poor but our younger players didn't take their opportunity either".

So posters who are expecting wholesale changes this week, I wouldn't get your hopes up.

IMO it will be:

In Murphy
Out Stack

Maybe one other change but I would bet that there won't be more than two.

I think Stack is worth another shot. It really may be time for Eagle to wear the blue and yellow for a week. For god's sake keep Wood in the team, he is strong in the legs and takes the game on.

Out: Eagle, Addison
In: Murphy, O'Keefe or Reid

In Murphy, Picken

Out: Stack, Addison

I feel sorry for Dylan once he finally went back in the second half he did OK. However, I believe Harbrow and Tim Callen if fit are in front of him for the back pocket position.

Stack has to go his confidence was shot yesterday and it will take weeks for him to recover. I said to my wife yesterday he would drop that uncontested mark in the third quarter, the pressure he thought was going to come was reason enough for him to drop the mark.

For people crying out to bring untried players into the side you need to be very careful, if the players isnt ready we have seen twice this season what can happen (Grant & now Stack). Easten Wood yesterday was just Ok against an ordinary side, if Reid was fit I would bring him in. Bigger body and bigger engine.

Eagleton is struggling no doubt, i reckon he has lost a yard. However he works so hard running to provide options, believe me at this stage we would miss his run. Ward yesterday was good with his 2 goals and strong at the contest. He just didn't work hard enough to provide an option. If he had Eagleton or Cross's work rate to run Ward would be in the Joel Sellwood class.

OUT: Addison the forward, Eagleton, Everitt
IN: Addison the defender, Picken, Murphy

In: Murphy, Picken, Welsh
Out: Eagleton, Addison, Everitt
Eagleton past his best and unlikely to make any significant contribution. Coughs the ball up, puts team mates under pressure and misses vital goals. Recent form very poor.
Addison too slow and panics.
Everitt lacks aggression and authority at AFL level and also panics. Unfortunately I don't think he'll make it. I hope I'm wrong.
Keep Wood and Stack in for at least one more try as both show some potential and the reward of at least one more game may encourage them to give everything they've got against Brisbane.
Wood and Stack would then have to make way for Gia and Higgins when they return in Rounds 21 and 22.

Out Addison: Hate to say this but Fred Cook...you were right. He isn't up to it. How the hell did Eade think this bloke could play up forward?

I would like to know our win ratio with him in our side

2006 2 games - 2 wins
2007 11 games - 6win
2008 17 games - 13 wins 1 draw
2009 10 games - 5 wins

Total 40 games 26 wins 1 draw - win % 67

That is quite acceptable.

Did not play well against West Coast and probably needs to be dropped this week along with Stack.

Poor old Stack has gone from the penthouse to the you know what house, in one week. I would be surprised if he didn't suffer the wrath of the selectors on Thursday. And Addison was really ordinary as well. I guess the outs will depend upon who can come back from injury.

Guarantee Wood is dropped. Not because he should be, but because Eade would rather use a first-gamer as his scapegoat.

Out : Smorgon, Rose, Fantasia and not forgetting the Great Satan himself - Rodney Eade.

In: The Angry Men of Big Footy - they know the score! President Fred Cook, Coach Kapper Tau, Football Manager Libba 39, Recruiting Manager (via time machine) Power Forward and Marketing Manager BWFC (2010 membership drive slogan "We're all dooomed!")

Oh, all right then:

In: Murphy (I hope), Welsh (need someone to sh!tcan if we - sorry, guys - WHEN we lose next week, Picken, Guy O'Keefe (just to prove he's about as AFL ready as Jarrad "Where am I, man?" Grant)
Out: Eagleton, Johnson, Addison, Stack (hero to zero in a week - no room for mediocrity, son), Hudson, Minson, Eagleton again (just to make sure)

That was beautiful. Easily the biggest positive for the weekend. :thumbsu::D

Exactly ! Its always the way with eade !

there must be changes, at least 3 - Eagelton , griffen hahn out !

they have had far too many chances and its time to go back to the magoos like Del Santo and Milne had to for the saints ! At least their coach has balls unlike eade who is piss weak at the selection table !

There is no safer spot on any starting 22 of all AFL sides than Nathan Eagleton's.

In all seriousness, you have to ask yourself WHY this is the case ???

It just boggles my mind !

He has been a good servent, but he wont win us a flag - time to cut our losses and move on and develop a younger player !

Looks the AMOBF have got themselves a Chairman of Selectors!

BTVD, similar to Ivan's posts, your posts tend to make me laugh. It makes the pain of a bad loss not as bitter. You have to have a sense of humour to be a long standing dogs supporter :)

Before I joined up with the Dogs I used to barrack for Fitzroy - now there's some real pain for you. I'm sorry, but a Round 19 loss - no matter how embarrassing and inadequate - is so insignificant compared to watching your club die because all of its supporters give up the ghost and drift away. I just can't believe some of the more extreme reactions on this forum. But I do find them highly amusing.

There lies the problem

You can hope for only so long before you give up

We dish up that crap and people start to lose hope and it has a domino effect and before to long we are gone as well (Most likely Western Sydney)
