Missing an easy set shot (Cotchin) is just as bad if not worse than conceding a goal due to a turnover.

Everyone on this board is just going to have to accept that these players will make mistakes that will cost goals.

I went to the game and watched the replay late.

I actually think that everyone was quite even across the ground. McGuane and Rance had an average first half but were great in the second. Considering how much the ball comes in they do quite well. What we lack is a really good small defender (Farmer?) who can take the opposition small forward. If Thomas had kicked straight North would have won. Milne has proved the difference against St Kilda.

And for chrissake we need to play Deledio in the middle.

nason needs to do something to avoid being dropped, has never held a tackle in his life. does not get involved in the play enough, (turning his back instead of being an option) needs more games at vfl level running through the middle picking up possesions IMO.
no need for him as a crummer.

with King doing the job expertly, white and nahas rotating through the fwd/mid.

Fair enough too, they looked pretty good the other night against the aint quites. They used speed to take it right up to them so we need to counter that with more speed.

I'd suggest he was either a late withdrawal cause of illness or was yanked in case we needed extra cover in our game.

Why wouldn't Batch come straight in? Is his injury going to keep him out for another week? Also I'm loathe to drop Vickery for Post considering Brisbane will have Clarke, Leuenberger and McCauley... But Vicks needs to dominate in VFL for a week or two, I'm confident that he will as well. Post deserves another shot at CHF.

Just in case you have been asleep for a few days Tucky is already in. And Miller would be a pointless sub. He is there as a big body companion for Jack. Nason would be an ideal sub.

Morton and Collins are better skilled and more damaging with the ball. I feel a bit sorry for Nason getting dumped back out of the team but he just isn't good enough right now.

We can only experiment with Browne or Derrickx if Graham gets injured or if we are playing a team with diabolical ruck stocks. Likewise McGuane. It seems he is ahead of Thursfield in the eyes of the coaching staff, and Moore is not ready yet.

I don't know what to make of Edwards. He looks flashy and gets the ball but doesn't have the poise that our better onballers have. Often he's forced to make a rushed disposal that goes anywhere. We may well be playing him out of position.

Bombers went in with 3 rucks, and i read today Longmire is going to go into the Carlton game with 3 rucks. 2 teams doesnt make a trend, but its an interesting reversal of the initial sub/interchange teams. white will not be the syb, has been playign his role well. connors was crap and injured himself in the coburg game. tuck will be starting 21, but cant tag like jackson does. so really who gets the tagging job?

i dont think any one needs to get tagged this week, Power has been playing in the forward line, Black while still classy is not what he once was, while Rockcliff and Rich dont really deserve tags either i would be more than happy to go head to head with Cotchin Martin Tuck/Foley. Maybe even give Delids the head to head job on black.

Webberly would be an option to come in also and would make a good sub.
White def not sub for 2 reasons.
1. he has done his job (and more) this season and everyone should be more than happy with his output.
2. the sub IMO needs to be someone who attracts the ball so they can use their fresher legs and speed to hurt the opposition, a player of the likes of white/nason/helbig etc
do not attract the ball enough and come on fresh and get something like 3 possesions in the last qtr.








while i will agree that connors has been $hit this year, i still believe he is def in your best 22 i just think he has been played out of position, in the backline with the likes of newman/delid/edwards makes him actualy defend a decent foward and i think his kicking is 80% perfect 20% shittest kicks ever. their is no middle ground.

in the last line of defence these 80% do not help that much but the 20% kill you, i think him playing on a weaker defender he did not have to focus on and control the ball from the high half back line or just playing the wing would suit his game style the best,
in the last half of last year he was probbaly in your top 10 players and his game against freo last year where he was allowed to do this was a great game, and he was probably the sole reason you stole that one (with the exception of J.roo)

What's with everyone saying that Connors should come in? Was dropped for obvious reasons and by all accounts from the reports of the Coburg game, he didn't do enough to warrant a recall and was pretty lazy most of the game.
