Unfortunately that advice came too late. My hope now lies with Dangerfield rushing mid and taking out most of the team, or possibly the entire team while he's at it

Yeh we have to remember the Ts (Brisbane) are pretty big noobs so won't be picking mid and are likely to all rush long so there's a chance danger can rush up mid and anal them all haha

It really does feel like we're leaving some tricks up the sleeve for the Sept, which (if true) is effing awesome.

I find that extremely difficult to believe. We have not been in any position to be "leaving tricks up our sleeve". If we have lost games then it's because the other team was better than us, not because we are indestructible, unbeatable and are hiding the secret to our invincibility.

This article was in The Australian today. Talks about the Crows' selections over the course of the season and how they have almost deliberately avoided going with 'best 22' during the season.

Crows pack hard-ball clout to muscle up in finals

Thanks for that link, a good article. Sando has certainly "rotated" players 15-26, a good move that keeps everyone on their toes and gives reward for those playing well in the SANFL.

I'm torn about resting players 1-10 for a game but I wouldn't mind subbing one of our mids out early if we are comfortably on top.

Would like to see Dangerfield, Thompson & Jacobs rested for the last quarter in the next 3 games, if we have the games under control. Freshen them up for finals.

Sloane seems to be a little sluggish in recent weeks too. perhaps he could do with a half game somewhere aswell.
I'm really worried about resting players in good form though. especially the younger ones who may not have experienced doing that before. our best footy this season was before the bye imo.

Good point about Sloane. We could start him as a sub in the last minor round game. I'm sure Sando will manage the players smartly leading into the finals, given he would be aware how the Cats managed things last year.

When Sloane is flat, we are flat. He is our barometer, hence our scratchy performances in recent weeks. Give him a snickers before the finals. We can't afford to have old man Sloane spudding it up out there.

I agree wholeheartedly! He is a vital linchpin and an absolute barometer in us playing with vigor or playing flat and stagnant! :thumbsu:

Should take care of the Lions easily tonight. Have the better midfield, better rucks, better forward line, better coach. These are the games we should smash them by 10 goals.
:mad::confused: All of these emotions after witnessing that.
We were this side for the first quarter, then the heat got turned up and showed how far we still have to go. Straight sets unless under performers are chopped out now. The Knights as sub didn't work and he looks like he is running in glue.
Isolating Sauce at full forward then not kicking it to his advantage - dumb
Too many more dumb decisions to reel off. Should not have lost that game, but our delivery into our forward line was shite all night.
Can Sando and the boys learn from this pantsing? Cause the Dees will be looking to do the same to us again next week.

Lucky we haven't given our tricks away, great move by Sando to hide our super secret gameplan for the finals :thumbsu:

The boys put the cue in the rack at quarter time. Thought it was done and dusted. They were VERY dejected at the end and at the post match. It was, in fact, a shit night all round.

Agreed. We definitely didn't go into that game 100% focussed on winning. That's not to say we didn't want or try to win, but we certainly didn't do all that we could (in preparation) to get the points.

Same as last night.

Which is why I said Jen's post was short sighted.
