Not taking risks with anyone at this time of year, very smart from Sando. I have no doubt that Porps and Smith will play at least one game before finals, at the expense of Knights and Brown. Tbh, I don't think it matters how well both play (unless it is something out of the ordinary), Porps and Smith will come back in regardless.
Agree - we are in a position not to risk players. Smart player management to get the team right for finals. Also, gives our backup players additional experience with the current game plan, in case they are needed to cover an injury.

But the need to play into form for the final series is important. Two weeks for a "bruised shoulder", the result of an insignificant looking event, has unhappy resonances. Wouldn't be surprised if he was done. :(
Sando said he was 95% ready to go this week, but no point in risking him unless 100%. Says he will most definitely play against Melbourne, along with Smith.

Lewis Johnston is the one that was rumoured to be a 'shit bloke' from memory. Lynch is just a bit of a larrikin I think. Regarding Johnston, it seems as though he is fitted in at the club after all.

Man of Clay is mates with Johnston; don't know that he's a shit bloke, sounds like more of a lad.

Hadn't heard that about Lynch, but bloody odd he can't get a look in, Very versatile and good all over.

Doughty for sub.

Knights got his chance in 3 games and did no good so how in the hell did he get back in.
! good game SANFL last week
Lynch got Knights last week numbers every week for Glenelg and really no wrong in AFL matches and offers versatility and competitive both when team in attack and defence.
Where is this shit bloke posting coming from as not posted before in my memory though was mentioned that Johnston had a bit of attitude.
Funny also Brown getting game after probably worst game for Redlegs this year but will be good to see how goes.

Guess they like Knights midfield ability?

Bit surprised about Brown coming in.

Sadly I think it says a lot about Jaensch's standing at the moment.

Yeah, i think they figured out he can't defend

He'd be much better as a winger or HFF. Want to zone off in our F50? He'll bomb them from 55-60

Our outside midfielders/wings are expected to run hard into defence, fill the space and take intercept marks. Jaenschy hasn't demonstrated that he can play this role. We are currently using mainly Sloane and VB plus rotating Vince and Douglas through these positions (now that D-Mac is being used in the back six0.

Swapping brown with Otten, that is probably our best 22.

Tippett's return is no great surprise. Brown's return wasn't expected, but then again, none of us were aware that Smith would be MIA due to a leg injury. Brown is clearly the best of the small defenders we have in the SANFL (with Otten on the injury list), so he gets a gig.

Knights' selection is a bit surprising. To his credit, he's been delivering in the SANFL for a while now, so he probably does deserve it. I honestly thought that his folder had been stamped, but there aren't many other options with Hendo in the medical rooms.

Knights is an interesting case. Unlike Symes, his best is clearly AFL level - it's at the AFL game winning level. Problem is that he hasn't shown this level of footy since 2009. The fact that he's racking up decent possession tallies in the SANFL says that he's getting his fitness back, but has his left leg regained the power it used to have when he was booting goals from 50+m? That's the unknown at this stage of the game.

Fingers crossed we'll get Smith & Porps back next week, with no new injuries. That would give us our best 22 on the eve of the finals.

Nah, it was both..
Makes you wonder why we recruited them then as never were stars but certainly something in Lynch coaches dont like .
Vader seems 3 years a long time to wait for someone to re produce the form that we over paid him for and really apart from that kick which seems to have vanished does not offer a lot else especially attack on the ball and opposition.
It is not about getting better value in trade as we get what AFL says we get.

I've never heard a bad word about Lynch. Not sure where those calls have come from.

With Johnston it was more rumours that he was a bit too big for his britches, rather than being a shit bloke.

Great to see Brown get another run. Knights still half a chance to get to 100 games before he disappears at the end of the year :p
