Changes vs Brisbane

Makes you wonder why we recruited them then as never were stars but certainly something in Lynch coaches dont like .
Vader seems 3 years a long time to wait for someone to re produce the form that we over paid him for and really apart from that kick which seems to have vanished does not offer a lot else especially attack on the ball and opposition.
It is not about getting better value in trade as we get what AFL says we get.

I suspect some of our decisions were driven by the weakness of the 2011 draft. Note that the weakness of the draft is also the only reason why Symes survived to spend the 2012 season on our list.

St Kilda's youth development under Lyons was nothing short of abysmal. I'm not surprised that they thought they could turn Lynch's career around. I think he showed a bit in the games he played, but he's still very raw and needs a lot of work.

As for Johnston, I think they probably regard that trade as a nil-all result. Armstrong was never going to go anywhere while on Adelaide's list, so we lost nothing by trading him for Johnston, even if he barely plays a game. Either way, Johnston was still a better option than a mid-late pick in the 2011 draft.

How many times in our history have we hosted a Saturday (or friday) night game against a much better side and we've knocked them off or given them a fright? Despite form or season norms suggesting otherwise?

What we lack the most and is a waiting game to change that, is maturity and experience. Those are the two things IMO that will see us win if Brisbane come to play tommorrow.

Yep & giving him every chance to prove himself once again at AFL level before he heads to Port.

If Lynch played, we would probably be too tall, even though he is a utility type, not someone we could throw into the midfield.

Ive heard Ricciuto pump him up aswell saying that hes a great guy to have at the club, and a bloke i know at Glenelg said the coach loves him there aswell. I wasn't questioning if they were good guys, I was stating what the rumours were if that makes sense.

I'm glad Lynch isn't a tool and hope Johnston isn't either.

Id say this is confusing to us cos we're looking at it through crows coloured glasses. Perhaps he thought his guys were a bit off, perhaps taking it easy cos they think they can get us, so just to shake em up a bit he stirred us up, so now they know they'll need to be focussed or risk a caning.

Whether Voss is a good coach or not, we're not anywhere near good enough to be worrying about how the opposition might be feeling. I suspect Voss's comment is half aimed at getting some punters through the gates and half aimed at reminding the players that they've knocked off a top 2 side in the past.

And with the closeness of the top end of the ladder, I'd be surprised if the words of a bottom 6 team's coach would provide any extra motivation for your boys.

I think Matty J is like Tom Lynch. They can't work out where to play him.

He needs to improve his defensive skills and his marking/spoiling is not good enough to be part of the back six. He could be good as an outside midfielder or a high half forward but there are plenty in front of him in the queue. With Brown, Laird and Crouch pushing for a spot next year he needs a bit of luck to get back into the side.

Since the GABBA is the equivalent of de_dust2 id have to pick tex due to him being able to pick off the TS as they run up short. Tex is the teams designated sniper btw

I think your right with Lynch, however I think Matty J is a different issue that is his defensive skills are not up to the pass mark
