Re: Meesen to debut against the Bulldogs!!!!!

Good changes

Hudson for Griffin
Meesen for Maric
McGregor for Perrie
Welsh for Jericho?

Also wouldn't be surprised to see Mattner for Knights ... ???

HAHAHA yeah right, 4th leading possession winner all year, had a quiet week as most did last week....kiddin yaself...

but yeh there would certainly have be four changes come sunday arvo, jericho will surely make way for kenny in addition to those other 3 changes...

I'm a huge fan of Chris, but he has been disappointing for a little while now. Especially disposal/decision making wise. His possesion stats won't indicate this, but it is correct. He looks very tired.

He won't be 'dropped' just 'rested'. No doubt in my mind that he has 'hit the wall'.

MEESE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! :D :thumbsu:

Without doubt the best changes ever!!!!!

He's in, he's finally in!!! You beauty!!!

Bad luck Cox, you're no longer #1!

Johnny!!!

We knew it would happen, but this was even beyond what I thought Drummond would do !!! And everyone agrees with you which makes it all the more better.

Glad Messen is getting a run, but I am a bit confused by the rationale. I mean if he was going to get a run, why wasn't it last week? It is not as if he put in a blistering performance for Norwood as they didn't play. I can only assume that Craigy gave Griff and Maric first crack at it last week and it was up to them to impress him to keep Messen out of the side. Looks like they failed to do that and therefore the Mees has been unleashed.

I think Ian Perrie has played his last game for the club...it is time to move on. It is time to inject some young guns into the forward line, especially if we are out fo the fianls race. This means giving the likes of Griffin and Messen a run through there. Also I would like to see Porps and Vince working together as smaller forwards.

Re: Meesen to debut against the Bulldogs!!!!!

Also I'm sure they're trying to make Meesen feel wanted, let him know the AFC have him in their plans if he wants to stay.

I agree.

Also; if its gifting him a game lets hope tears the wrapping off, rolls it up and demands more.

Is it possible that the Club was concerned that with Maric or Griff, we'd be too exposed by having our backup ruckman be a debutant?

With Huddo back, if Meese struggles, Huddo can cover him for most of the game.

WONT NEED TO THOUGH, RIGHT DRUM!!

Re: Meesen to debut against the Bulldogs!!!!!

B: Johncock, Rutten, Stevens
HB: Torney, Bock, Massie
C: van Berlo, Goodwin, Reilly
HF: McLeod, Gill, Douglas
F: Porplyzia, Burton, Thompson
Foll: Hudson, Shirley, Edwards
Interchange from: Meesen, McGregor, Welsh, Knights, Vince, Jericho, Mattner
The emergencies should be Vince, Knights & Jericho.

Effectively:
Hudson/Meesen for Maric/Grifin
McGregor for Perrie (who was injured)
Mattner for Knights (who is knackered)

Great to see the Meese debut.
Good to see Douglas remaining in the team
Hopefully Macca does play up forward / on ball (now Stiffy is back in form).

This is a good looking team.

Hopefully they win it for Roo.

Re: Meesen to debut against the Bulldogs!!!!!

it's all speculation, but my guess is that as maric and griffen were both so shit last week (lets be honest, it wasn't a glorious triumph for either) that we thought we may as well give meese a look in.

Aww that's being a bit harsh there Crow-mo-man. They weren't totally shit, they had their moments but were beaten on the day by bigger, stronger and more experienced bodies.

Adding further speculation:

1. I know Griffin and Maric are also inexperienced but to have Meesen play his first game against a couple of the strongest bodied ruckmen would have just crucified him.

Playing against Bulldogs and a far far inferior ruck set-up provides a better first game initiation.

2. Griffin and Maric further opened the door and provided Craig the "excuse" to play Meesen. Has he been gifted a game ......certainly has IMO.

3. If you believe Meesen has been "gifted" a game ......then by extension that means we are now trialing players for end of season cuts .....yes that's right IMO we have taken the decision to certainly play for finals BUT also trial players ....which says how important being 8th means in relation to trialling.

4. Meesen would have been SO flat after not making the side last week (for the reasons i have explained) ...strategically to immediately get called up cancels out the negative thoughts he would have obviously had and in fact turned it into a HUGE positive that the club does have faith in him and supports craigs statements about him.

5. IMO Vince will replace Knights in the side.

6. McGregor playing for his future .....Perrie rested to help North Adelaide and get his 3 games up :p
