What does langdon offer other than being sexy?

elite runner, elite in pressure acts. Exactly what we’ve needed for a number of years.
once he plays 50 games and finds his niche in the team I think he could be quite handy.
amazing how many contests he gets to.

Harry hasnt been seen since he was decimated by GWS. He was their preferred avenue of attack he was so outclassed. Didnt give up and is developing.
With all those inside 50s and not midfield support our whole backline was hammered . Pretty sure hurn shep and rotham go a bath aswell that game .

Barrass is the only in form defender we have at the moment

But they were not the obvious avenue of attack as they were competing. this was most evident early in the game when we were in it. Not a knock on Harry but he was not ready.

Given what we have available, I'm pretty happy with the team tbh, and don't really get the melting.

Looks as well balanced (in terms of talls and smalls) as we've had all year, or at least since the Port game.

Foley in means 8 defenders, unless Nelson is going to tag, which I think will happen. Needs to be on Walsh.

Only Waterman and Darling as talls in the fwd line means Ryan can fly for his marks and play as "tall", love to see him isolated in the goalsquare at stages playing as a true full fwd. Also it means we have a spot for the 2nd ruck to rest fwd instead of resting on the bench.

Have enough actual "mids" to be able to rotate through the centre square. We've been paying short in this area all year.

Get to see a debutant in Edwards and youngsters in O'Neill and Foley get a decent run at it it their correct positions.

We might not win, but I'm as content with the MC selections as I have been all year.

Anyone not that fussed by the Jones dropping?

I like Jones and think he has more upside than Langdon, but both go missing in games and both are inconsistent. Jones was also quite poor last week, in a game we needed runners.

Neither are going to be the difference between a win and a loss, so happy for Langdon to get a run now.

Gee, we've been injury ravaged.

If we can somehow pull it off this weekend at our bogey ground it would rank as one of our finest wins.
We had a similarly weak squad against saints last year and also said it would be one of our best wins. Does anyone even care now?

I re-watched that game again in off-season and it was a horrible scrap. I figure this will be the same. Will love it if we win though

The saints should be ashamed that they lost that game.

Jones is still green so he will be up and down performance wise until he starts hitting up near the 60 -85 game experience ..

Backs -
A) Barrass, Hurn, Sheppard
B) Cole, Rotham
C) HEdwards, Foley

Ruck/Mids -
A) Naitanui, Gaff, Yeo, Sheed, Redden
B) Nelson
C) Williams, O’Neill

Forwards -
A) Darling, Ryan, Cripps
B) Waterman, Petruccelle
C) Langdon, LEdwards

A (11) - Best 22 locks who we need to standup and lead the way. If these guys don’t perform at or near their best we aren’t winning

B (5) - In the 18-25 range of a fully fit list and need to shoulder more responsibility than usual. Can’t afford these guys to go missing

C (6) - Langdon aside have all played >10 games so can’t expect any of them to be match winners. Need to play their roles and at least make a contribution

Missing -
Shuey, Kelly, McGovern, Kennedy, Duggan and Allen are all A’s
Witherden, Brander and Achee (just) are B’s

**** injuries

He could actually be the Cripps replacement.
More the defensive small forward than the attacking Ryan/Rioli/Winder/Cameron type.
But you really only want one of that type in the team at any one time. With Cripps badly out of form I'd be happy to play Langdon in place of Cripps for a few weeks. And leave Jones in. But that's not what's happening.

Good to see LEdwards get a run. Despite having the (reported) better WAFL form I am still a little surprised we didn't go with Trew. Just based on the fact that Edwards is more an outside and Trew more an inside tackling type. Which week after week has been our biggest weakness.

Have a feeling we might see Ryan isolated and playing one out from the square tomorrow

he’s not at full fitness and limits the damage the other way due to lack of run of other underdone players

allows JD to continue his great work up the ground

Except Langdon cant kick over a jam tin. Cripps was arguably our best forward the last 2 weeks. His season prior to that has been poor but he is finding some solid form.
