It's a pity Jarrod Berry is injured, he would have been a perfect match up for Patrick Cripps.

Besides Cripps the only other Blue I'd be a bit worried about containing is if Charlie Curnow all of a sudden hits his best form, Darcy Gardiner should be able to contain him though.

McKay is probably as big a threat as Curnow.

I think fagan is developing depth this year to set us up for years to come, rather than trying to use a fixed team for short term glory this year.

He is playing fringe/depth players and giving them a few weeks to develop the game pace required at Afl level. Given poor old Carlton are struggling I expect to see one or two new faces this week, but I have no idea how they will pick who sits out.

I think fagan does have different standards for players in the neafl and Afl - the younger neafl players have slightly lower standards than the older ones as they have unexplored potential. Players like basti and cutler and even Lewy are seen to have had their chances to explore their potential. It's a bit harsh considering those chances came at times when out whole team was dysfunctional but that's sport.

I think it will only be changes for match up reasons this week!

Bring in another tall defender and maybe 1 other - possibly O’Mac for Archie.

I would be happy to go with no change or possibly one. Watched the Carlton game yesterday and they did not show much at all, so am confident we should win BUT we are going to lose a match simular to this if our "Kicking for goal does not improve". Fagan has stated that they are working on it but at present I don't believe we have improved. We know who our main offenders are so I hope someone is trying to get into their head space to minimize this concern. If we do not make finals due to our poor kicking then it would be extremely disappointing for us all. We need some games with really good wins (more goals than points) so our confidence to kick goals is strong and accurate.
We will go into this game as massive favorites, very new for our club over the last decade or so. I want us to put this game away early, what a great sign it would be if we could really put our foot on their throat and show no mercy right from the opening bounce.

It would be such a downer to lose this game, we'd have 2 weeks to stew on it.

I see Cutler and Basti in completely different lights. One is a young player who some may argue has not been given the best chance to show waht he has to offer. The other is at his second club and the histroy really is repeating itself. He will be on his way at year's end you would think and I don't think he can argue he wasn't given every opportunity to succeed.

Surprised people are calling for Robertson to be dropped he played his role and shutdown Breust. Only change that will happen is BigO for Archie or hopefully we manage to bring in Allison but not sure who would come out for him.

Hmmmmm, meeting called at Carlton with all the brass. Bolton tenure looks ominous you would think? Just wait till the bye round blue bags!

It might be last chance saloon?
If they lose this week (to us) he is gone!

I don't think they will sack Bolton before the Bye. who knows though. Reading the Carlton preview for Saturday makes for dismal reading. 10 - 20 goals is most peoples predictions. I hope we don't get complacent, however, we should win this game comfortably and am expecting we do so.

If Oscar is good to go then he comes in for Smith (he was ok, he just makes way)

Other than that, happy to roll out with the same line up, it's a bit of an inexperienced, odd line up, would like to see them have another go together.

Robertson and Keays were underwhelming but hold their spots as no one else is pressing an unforced change, plus hard to gage a players where abouts after 1 game.

Real danger game this one - these are exactly the type of games that teams like us (young up and coming teams) drop. Need to be really switched on.

No, but you can have Tom Bell back.

You're welcome.
Tom Bell playing for our local club Greensborough in the Northern Football League. Playing assistant coach. Doing very well.
Played against North Heidelberg on the weekend which included Brent Harvey and Daniel Harris.
I reckon if you asked Belly you wanna play at Carlton or stay at Boro reckon he would say im happy playing with Boro especially when we have not lost a game.

They're still a bunch of duds. New coach won't change anything

Changing coaches nearly always has an immediate positive impact on a team, no matter how lowly. They have some good young talent and are still capable of upsetting a side such as ours which is young and unaccustomed to entering a game as a hot favourite. Add the fact that our record at Marvel is not that flash and that we haven't actually strung four quarters together in any game save probably the opening round. I think we will win but suggestions on the Blues' own board of a 10 to 20 goal thrashing are way over the top.

Anything is possible of course, but we wouldn't need to string together 4 quarters in this game to win comfortably. Barring an absolute bath in the middle they don't score enough to keep up with us. I agree I don't expect a 10 goal win but I would be shocked if it isn't a reasonably comfortable win.
