After seeing the insipid and disgraceful performance tonight, heads need to roll. Our once mighty football club is becoming an embarrassment like the Bulldogs have been for the last 50 odd years. I feel so sorry for Simpson, you can see the game plan that he is trying to implement but we just don't have competent personnel on the pitch to pull it off. Our midfielders are wasting the best tap work we have ever seen and treating those lovely taps with contempt. If Cousins, Judd and Kerr were being fed like hat we would have one 3 in a row. How Priddis, Selwood and Butler are still getting games I will never know. I hope we adopt Hawthorn's recruiting policy in the future: If you can't kick you can't play, unless you're Naitanui.

My lineup for next week:

FB: Schofield McGovern Bennell

HB: Hurn Sinclair Nelson

C: Masten Sheed Gaff

HF: Lamb Lycett Wellingham

FF: LeCras Kennedy Cripps

Ruck: Naitanui Shuey Yeo

Int: Selwood Duggan Lycett

Sub: McGinnity

A midfield that could actually utilize Naitanui's tapwork and a lot of slugs are out of the squad. What do you guys think? Priddis is not the captain, he can and should be dropped.

Oh no not Priddis and Rosa you Can't drop them, the fan boys will come out in force. Both slow, both bad kicks but Priddis can find the ball and Rosa is a good link up man. Both One trick players. But i guess those tricks are good enough.

We all know the midfield is the problem but when somebody mentions Priddis or Rosa and ever Masten you are told "they are best 22." It's like people want changes but can't start any where.

While I'd normally be happily camped on the "Get McGinnity away from the AFL ASAP" bandwagon, if you want selection to reward performance, you just can't after tonight's effort. He did a good job of reducing Murphy's output and preventing more than a couple of damaging runs off half back. We need to set precedents - do your job, you get selected and after tonight, he should play next week (the second he messes up though...get him out!)

That said, also after tonight, can people stop using the word "fast" when describing McGinnity. He. Is. Not. Fast. He was beaten in foot races by a near 33 year old Murphy on numerous occasions tonight, and Murphy by his own admission isn't the quickest player going around. McGinnity is not fast.

I thought Masten was better than some on here are giving him credit for. Though he did make a couple of shocking hospital hand passes where he shat himself due to physical pressure and dished it off like a hot potato, only for the teammate he gave it to to be instantly smashed.
 
God masten and Selwood make some terrible decisions. frustrating how much they break down quick movements at times.

Dropping sheed is a knee jerk reaction, give him games.

Also, was at the game tonight and I swear I saw shuey give bonts a jab in the face. Did anyone else see it ?
 
Priddis won a Brownlow!! Why wasn't he traded then? Who knows, somebody might have taken him!! That was a golden opportunity missed. Please, he is embarrassing when the oppo gets it. Rosa? Massively overrated. Makes poor decisions and coughs up regularly. Doesn't like it too hot! Selwood...... Slow, too slow for today's game. Sheed also looks slow and may be another likely to be persevered with for too long but I hope I am wrong with that one. Butler should have been moved on years ago and Welingham was simply never that good in the first place! Bennell must be in this side and be given assurance he won't be dropped before any of the above. Turn McGinnes into a defender ASAP, doesn't look like ever making it as a forward so what's to lose? Play Duggan now, Lamb and Nelson looked ok so get him in too and start to build. Lucas, Newman give em a whirl too and see how it looks. Plus, after McGoverns game today, why wasn't his brother drafted??

Although Wellingham was ok tonight I thought. Created well from the backline at times. He probably took Bennells spot?

I would also like to see Bennell on a wing and Rosa's slow A$$ on half back.

Professor Plod is clearly the most glaring problem in our midfield. We always get burnt by the other teams speedy fringe mids as well, seems to happen way to often.

If his ankle isn't up to it then agree he can't play. In that case I'd bring Duggan in as a sub.

I was at the game, and would be surprised if the head knock kept him out of it.

If we're looking for a novel solution to our problems

IN: Schofield, McInnes, Ellis
OUT: Brown, Sheed, Butler
 
Ellis Bennell and Schofield coming back now is huge... assuming Hurn or Yeo Takes the 3rd tall Mcgovern takes the Gorilla forward and Schofield the more mobile, Ellis is great at being 3rd up and his foot skills along with bennell are going to be important
