Selwood being out doesn't surprise me- it's been a 6 day break for us so if he was underdone he may have needed an extra day or two. Hopefully not too serious.

I love the Duggan inclusion- although slightly surprised, I thought we would have given him an extra week or two. But with the royals having a week off, it makes sense to keep continuity in his game.

Is anyone else surprised that Tunbridge is playing over McInnes?
Been raining all week and forecast for tommorow as well. Absolutley no suprise fraser isnt playing. Gov was no good in the wet last year as well it takes away his biggest asset with his marking. Dont go near him with supercoach

Wouldn't be any doubts at all about Waterman becoming a good player, will be our best father-son ever. Will prove to be a very good player already this season.
Best legit father son, or best father son? I only ask because McIntosh and Cousins were picked up under the father son rules, if I'm not mistaken. ;)

good changes to see the axe swinging a bit. don't get comfortable ginners your next! have a feeling that lamb and duggan will rotate in and out the side a bit this year

Not sure what else you could expect to be honest.
If we were playing kids and our midfield was developing we could stomach the losses. The reason there is doom and gloom is because we are shit and the MC won't change the team or more specifically the midfield.
We don't understand the selections based on performances.
Creates hopelessness.
The kids we are playing people want dropped. The kids that come in are likely to do no better initially than the kids we want dropped because they are 'not up to it'. We want to reward WAFL form, unless its form from players we do not like. Drop Shuey, Gaff, Priddis Rosa Wellingham Scooter, for Duggan, Waterman, Lamb and that other bloke, to give them time to turn into.. err the next Shuey, Gaff, Rosa. Of course, after a month of shit games, we will want them all traded so we can get in some real talent, as they are obviously not up to it.

WCE are in trouble, drafting has been poor, injury run sucks. Hope (but it is only a hope) is in the kids, and we need to find out what they can do, and develop, and find out some more. This cant be done in the first 2 weeks of regular season.

This board makes the WCE look like a well run well oiled machine. Seriously, I would hope most of the posters on here do not have anything to do with coaching juniors, seriously scary thought.

if you think this is bad, try reading a Facebook thread sometime. :S

There are some very good posters here. It just sometimes means reading through some terrible posts to find them in the rough. :)

A lot stems from frustration. For a club that prides itself on success, we haven't done anything for a long while. And we all know we can be better than we are. Im not happy where we are, but I like the way the club is going at the moment under simmo. We have some very young talented footballers who just need nurture, not to be thrown to the wolves.

Really disappointed that Lamb isn't playing boys, you have an out and out star with him. Is it purely weather based? I'd love to see him played all year and fast tracked, he is a ripper size and will only continue to grow. I thought he was a real shining light against the Dogs!

I think he'll play at least a couple more times in the next month or two, but once Darling comes back he might get left out. Still needs to improve his endurance and put on a bit more bulk.

I'd say it's just monitoring his workload. He was picked as sub and ended up playing the best part of a whole game. I would have been happy to see him play again, but there's no hurry.

Good luck to young Duggan, hope he does super well.
Bennell is a great in and simply mind boggling he wasn't in round 1 and still can't believe he was dropped last year. He hads class and poise which we have little of.
Don't care whether Selwoods been dropped or injured, side will be better without him, 100 odd games is enough.

Where is Hutchy at? Anyone know how far away he is from playing??

Keep him in your Dream Team - he'll be back.

For me bennell is a lock - we missed his pace kast week - the fact that hes been dropped suggests something else is going on - perhaps discipline wise

We played some exciting footy through the corridor against the dogs. We were excellent with the ball in hand (note our multiple coast to coast goals), but woeful when we needed to go and get it ourselves (unless Nicnat was around).

Going on last week, the wet will hurt us because (a) we are more likely to turn it over through the middle and get burnt and (b) there will be a lot more contests where we need to win the footy. We were abysmal in wet conditions last season.

The only thing the conditions will do for us is help out the undersized backline. Hopefully if we combine that with the facts that we are at home and playing a team tipped to finish below us, we can grind out a win.

I'm going tonight and will be super pissed if we play shit, lose and I get soaked on the walk to the car.

How is the weather looking over in Perth?

BOM suggests it is clear now.

Clear now , read in the West this morning that Carlton trained last night and Mick saying the surface ( relaid surface ) is in bad state .

Fine today , should be okay hopefully !

Edit - Mick hasn't seen the surface but had been told its not in good shape due to the 40 mm of rain .

With Schofield coming in it'd be overkill for talls in a wet game of footy. We need more runners.

I just dropped by to say this too. He's strong in the contest for a first year player
