Sorry to interrupt fellas but I was just wondering if anybody has any word on if Jack Viney's tracking well for selection? My Supercoach team needs him.

I only used Blease as the example as he was being discussed in this thread. Could be an example for far too many of our players.

The funny thing is, there's always a pattern - with team improvement comes individual improvement.

Often people might say that the individuals need to improve for the team to improve, but maybe when the teams understanding of the game structure and requirements hit the right levels it creates an environment for individuals to improve their output on matchdays IMO.

The problem is we have far too many of these players (as mentioned). In a premiership side you'd probably only want to be carrying 2-4 of these players at most.

He would be a gun outside player if he had the inside players available for him. If Viney develops while Jones is still in his prime I think we can get the best out of him

Bottom line is that it's a crying shame that we are still having the same discussion about Blease that we did two years ago. He should have well and truly kicked on by now.

I think he did for a while, but his pre-season injury has been mis-managed.

Should never have played Round 1, and should have been told that he was just having his fitness boosted in the twos. Sometimes, the best empty talk is to the players themselves.

Agreed, bizarre that he accumulated so many in the off season though haha

FWIW, I'm reasonably content with the 22 that played against Brisbane.

Wouldn't be disappointed to see minimal changes.

Howe , don't need CHF as the ball seems to be kicked over their head a lot , but probably Pederson and Sellars i guess . The irony is most of us thought we had too many talls in the squad , but it seems its the talls that are falling over injured .

It's a real shame and a blight on our list that the best performing Melbourne listed players at Casey can't play for us. Magner and Couch are rookies (maybe one could be nominated for Clark, but puts him out for a definite 8 weeks) and the other in Hogan is to young to play for us.

Dunn is a strong chance to return with 35 disp 11 marks and 2 goals. And hoping Viney makes a return also.

Dunn will surely come in as he hurt us badly a few years ago, if I recall correctly.
Last weeks return at VFL level, must have surely secured him a game this week.

I like that as well, he's a lot more mobile then them - he is lightning fast as well Fitzy.

But Neeld said he's probably less ready for AFL footy then Dawes, I'm not sure if that's because of his strength or whatever...

On Neelds comments - one in HAS to be Strauss, he's been very consistent for Casey... not sure who the other(s) might be to be honest.

Kent and Taggert have both been in solid form out of the youngsters.

Viney comes in but he has been at Casey.

Dunn for Watts is obvious now, and yes I agree with Strauss in, probably for Rodan, Blease or Davey. Then maybe Viney for another of those three, and start a mid like Viney, Jones, Bail or Evans as sub. Sellar in for Pedersen if we want to be even less mobile up forward.
