OUT: White, Young, S Gray, Stewart
IN: Amon, Ah Chee, Trengove , Moore
Doubt Ryder will play but if fit drop Lobbe for Ryder (Lobbe offers nothing as a marking option or goal scorer)
We need extra inside big body mids such as Ah Chee and Moore (and play them for weeks and not as subs) which in turn frees up Boak & Ebert on the outside.
Keep current back 6 which includes Clurey and play Ryder as ruck (if fit) with Westhoff and Trengove the floating role similar to the Geelong combination.
However all centre square bounces just 1 ruck with our mids.
I want that floating tall to position himself in the middle so we have a tall option i.e. Westhoff, Trengove when coming out of defence. If Lobbe plays then leads to boundary. We at least have a tall marking option (at 197-200cm) and players can run to that contest in numbers for handball or crumbing which ever applies. Our current back 6-7 is ok it is just the other crap not working. In general play either Jacko or Westy push up into the middle and can double tag with our ruckman, and still leaves 2 talls in attack. Jacko is a competitor and strong mark along with Westy endurance and marking. The one not going in the middle plays as 2nd tall with Schulz in attack. We also know if required both Jacko and Westy can play a loose across HB if required. We can use the corridor if we have a marking option and at 196-200cm that is some target.
So here is my team v Carlton.
B: Impey Carlile Clurey
HB: Broadbent Hombsch Pittard
C: Ebert Wines Amon
HF: R. Gray Trengove Wingard
F: Monfries Schultz Westhoff
R: Lobbe/Ryder, Ah Chee, Boak,
Int: Hartlett, Moore, Jonas, 'Hoon' as sub

Huge changes this week or this seasons a write off it isnt already.

We are crows of 2013. I said this months ago that we could fall into that trap they did

It's a pity for Sam but as he is outsized in about every contest, he must be elite in all other aspect of his game. Must be a first grab/first give accurate disposal player. Sam tackles quite well and hold the ball in the area but it probably comes back to how coaches 'pigeon hole' players.

I wanted to wait until the Maggies game to do my ins and outs, so now here they are.

OUT:
White, IN: Amon, or Mitchell if Amon isn't 100% fit. Just going down the outside midfielder depth chart here with Polec and White both gone. I'd play whichever one of Amon or Mitchell we pick as the sub.

OUT: Clurey, IN: Trengove. If Trengove isn't fit Clurey can stay, but Clurey didn't do a lot last night so he'd be a bit fortunate.

OUT: Young, IN: Moore. Young played by far the worst game of his career last night and Moore seems to have had a big one in the SANFL going by his numbers and the posts in the SANFL gameday thread. Janus, if Moore doesn't get picked this week, then you'll be right to complain.

OUT: Sam Gray (forever), IN: Neade. Neade hasn't been outstanding in the SANFL this season but he has been consistently good, and after Gray had 33% disposal efficiency and a pathetic 0 tackles and 0 one percenters last night he cannot be rewarded with a spot in the side against Carlton. If the confident version of Jake Neade shows up then we'll benefit greatly from his skills around forward 50 considering how much we've struggled in that area lately.

Stewart for Ah Chee is a toss-up for the 22nd guy picked. I'd lean towards giving Stewart one more chance personally, considering that I already have 4 outs, that Stewart was very good last week, and that Ah Chee's SANFL numbers were OK but didn't scream 'pick me!' the way they did last week. But if Stewart has another game like last night, he's gawnski.

People can stop naming Ryder too, he's already been ruled out until after the bye.

Moore - 25 disposals, 7 marks, 3 tackles, 7 clearances, 4 inside 50s, 1 rebound 50, 2 goals. Not bad for a vanilla midfielder :P But he'll be probably be pipped for BOG on by Kane Mitchell with 30 disposals, 13 marks, 10 tackles, 7 clearances, 6 inside 50s, 5 rebound 50s and a goal.

Mitchell would definitely be coming in after that performance you would think - has played exceptionally well two weeks in a row and is by far a better prospect than the hack Sam Gray.

Yep, probably another 2nd or 3rd best which apparently isn't enough for AFL selection if your initials are A.M.

Mitchell's up and under kicking into the forward lines is a disaster. I watched today's West vs Port match and the memories came flooding back.
A "Kane Cornes School of Kicking (KCSK)" graduate.

Moore for sure though. AhChee too, based on what I saw.

We can't make more than about 3 changes for stability's sake, or we'll really be under the pump from Carlton.
So: Jackson Trengove, Moore and AhChee in.
There are any number of sensible decisions about who to omit.

Mitchell will come in, but he's a lesser version of Sam Gray in that he can dominate at SANFL level, but is just too small to put up those sort of performances against AFL hardened bodies. If Mitchell comes in for Sam Gray it's an upgrade, but along the lines of being a kid and a bully saying he'll break your arm after school, then he only punches you in the nuts. It still an eye wateringly painful experience.

White out Neade in
Stewart out Moore in
S Gray out Ryder in (If fit) if not then I NFI who comes in for S Gray?
Clurey out Trengove in (if fit)

Yeah, after last night's very public love affair with Out On the Full (my wife said why don't I pay her that sort of romantic attention anymore*), disposal Quality should be AT LEAST as important a measure of a player being picked as quantity. It doesn't matter if our game plan is shit or the best game plan in the history of any sport ever played, if our players can't dispose of the ball at a level to execute it.

* may or may not have happened.

OUT: White, Stewart, S Gray, Young
IN: Ah Chee, Trengove, Moore, Amon

I'd be willing to give Young another chance even though he had a horror game - mainly let him lurk around half forward and he can play a defensive role if it's needed. Unless Amon is fit, at which point I become instantly unsympathetic to Aaron's cause. Oh and get a haircut Aaron, even umpires hate that ****ing bun, especially the bald campaigners.

Start Trengove on the bench, let him support ruck and throw him forward as a third target (well second really as Westhoff is allowed to bugger off down back on a whim). Play a group of big, strong midfielders who can win their own ball and spread to receive.

Let Monfries try to kick goals and create play.

I'm reasonably sure that whatever it is Ken says they are trying to do but just aren't executing can be achieved using these players.

Easy

In Mitchell, Amon, Moore, o'shea (trengove, butcher)
Out, White, Gray, Young, clurey (Stewart, no idea)

However, Would not surprise me one bit to see o'shea/butcher/harvey in the way this years going. No doubt Kenny would of said to the 2nd stringers alright boys you saw how we performed last night theres multiple positions available as far as I see it. Go out there and prove to me why I should pick you; the older boys had good game statistically; o'shea, butcher, moore and Mitchell

Only thing concerning neade is he laid 0 tackles.

Gray for Mitchell
White for Amon
Young for Moore (sub)
Stewart for inanimate Carbon rod that plays forward. But seriously, I got no clue. Maybe Trengove. Maybe a debutant. Maybe butch. Maybe make Moore and Ah Chee fight to the death at training as forwards to see who can pinch hit there.... loser is sub.

Am not a fan of Moore but he must get a go this week. He could not do any worse than some of the P.W efforts we had to endure Friday night. To be honest I have been very disappointed since the Brisbane game. To many doing to little getting paid to much.

**checks outside for the four horsemen**

When even one of Moore's biggest critics is calling for his selection, you just know he's due.
