I'd love to see Minno out for Redpath. Will give us a real look at a future without Minson and what a forward twin tall forward line looks like. We'd still be able to move Roughy back and have Tom ruck while Red was one out in the goal square. Let's Stringer run riot on the 3rd defender too.

Swap Dale for Crameri too and put him in the midfield for the whole game. Future!

I'm not a fan of Roughie as our main ruckman as has been suggested. I'd rather see him as our FB, sharing duties with Wil and maybe Cordy. God no, Wil is not an option in defence OR attack. He's just limited, imo.

That said - and I'm a Cordy 'fan' - I don't think Ayce should push Wil out at the moment. I am worried about Wil's current form and longer-term future.

Summary: Roughie's main value is FB, but play ruck. Toyd is main value as KPF, rucking occasionally. Cordy as a backup ruckman, can play fwd or back (played majority of his games there). Minson: ruck only.

Redpath's game was good. Very good. But ... With Wil out, that'd mean Roughie and Toyd to ruck. I don't think that combo works. Toyd in ruck robs us of a target up forward. Roughie up forward is not the answer imo.

Redders up forward whilst Toyd/Roughie in the ruck? Is that what you mean?

Yeah, Toyd in the ruck and Redpath forward when Rough needs a rest or is moved to the backline. Otherwise, Rough in the ruck with Red and Toyd forward for like ~80% of the game.

Must've alienated a few during the McCartney reign and possibly the AFL also for the rubbish Sunday treatment we copped, if we have poor crowds against you guys and Collingwood in the next couple of weeks then a roast thread on this board is in order.
That's really strange. Your boys are bloody exciting to watch, Id have thought if there were some alienated in the past they'd be back by now after the season you've had.
We had 16k v GWS - most depressing atmosphere I've ever been too. And yesterday pulled 30k v GC just cause the team are showing some spirit again and Mick is gone.
Dogs supporters should be going to games in droves - heck, even I watch games just to see your young kids.

Can't wait for even just a short glimpse of Bont v Cripps.

Menz & Doc both have question marks.

Notice there aren't many calls for Grant to be dropped. Thought he missed way too many targets this week.
It was definitely his worst game for the last few weeks. Panicked a lot after the first quarter when he had the ball.
But I think it's best to keep him in. He's built some pretty good form lately.
I understand what you're saying but the saints pressure was pretty manic, and while just watching from the telly, it looked as if his team mates weren't giving him a lot of other options. He certainly wasn't on his lonesome with selling his team mates into trouble either.
+2 for keeping him in.

Ok cool, has the club been more transparent with its fans/members since Mick left? I remember I asked you a month or so ago about Kade Simpsons injury as I remember you were unhappy with the info given out by the club at that time.

Yeah dunno where they are, always seems to be that extra 5k missing at our games this season. Bont vs Cripps should be interesting but I doubt they'll play on each other as the Bont is playing more on the wing the last two weeks as he was struggling on the inside for a few weeks, Macrae vs Cripps might be where it's at as Macrae has been playing more in the centre since he came back from the VFL.

Club is definitely holding back on injury news but in regards to the rebuild, coach appointments etc I feel they are trying to be more transparent and honest. The fact we're actually having a proper process to find a coach for the first time in our history vs the usual headhunting is a step in the right direction.
Menz has bone bruising. He was struggling with injury before that (hasn't been training properly since round 2) so Id give him a few weeks off. Doc struggled yesterday with back/hammy issues and rumour has it he may have OP so Id give him a rest too. 6 day break won't help.

Jamo will be back. Walker should be after his rest last week - unless they finally bite the billet and put him in for surgery.
Boekhorst should come in for Menz or Ellard.

I actually thought grant consolidated his form a bit. He's doing alright as a wing. Dumb as hell with a hospital hand pass at one point though but his pace has minimised the loss of Jong IMO

His 1st half was great but was no where to be seen in the last quarter

Playing 4-5 taggers a week and not giving blokes like Graham a run was not a long term approach imo, it was a defence strategy as Mick had no confidence in the depth of players that he had, if Mick went the long term approach he would've played the kids, not drafted/traded in 21-23 year olds and not gifted games to list cloggers due to them having more experience while "protecting" the kids in the VFL.

Anyways, if Crameri is ready he comes back, maybe for Grant, maybe for Dale. If Minson's out it's for Redpath, not Cordy.

Mick played 4 taggers and kept bagging out the players in his press conferences saying we lack talent...what a knob. Just tried to save himself.

I'll be gutted if Docherty is out as well as Menzel. My 2 favourite blues to watch and my mates 7 year old son (who is joining us) is a mad Docherty fan. I would like to win but I'd like to watch some of your better players on the deck at least :(

Don't think you'll be quite as upset if you win by under a few goals where the likes of Docherty and Menzel would have made the difference ;)

I'm happy that the Blues aren't a hugely defensive side. Been playing pretty attacking footy under Barker. I have confidence in our backline to stop that.
Their style will allow us to play a bit more of our preferred style, I think. Unlike the Saints game.

That said, I always get the heebeejeebies when we play the Blues. It just feels like things wont go well.

From memory (so I'm probably wrong) but the underdog usually wins our match ups. Last year we were coming off a loss to Melbourne. 2013 we were fighting for finals & lost. 2012 - we fielded a vfl side and won. 2011 - top 4 contender and we lost.

We were in full on tank mode then half way through our 11 game losing streak to end that year. Even with a few out injured you proved to be better

In 2010 both teams were about even in the top 8 and we won but you guys had the wood on us bad the 3 years before that

I think we all get a bit caught up in the modern mantra of every player having to be able to play multiple positions. Will is by far our best ruck man, he ruck's tirelessly all day every weekend. Mumford is exactly the same and Will killed him only a few weeks ago. Maybe Bevo needs to stop experimenting with Will and turn him into something he isn't.
Anyway... Play on

I think Honeychurch deserves his spot back. We definitely lacked a crumber and a bit of zip last week.
Out Dale
In Honey
Leave Minson this week cos they do have some big units. But I don't think Bev's finishing tweaking the ruck set up yet.

Don't really believe there is any need for changes this week.
We came up against a pretty good young team last week who came at us hard but we still managed to see them off.
Morris will be better for the run and both Stringer and Dahlhaus had down weeks so should bounce back.
About the only change would be to maybe give one of the young guys a break and put either Hrovat in or give CD his break

In: Honey, Crameri, Campbell
Out: Dale, Dickson, Minson

Minson is done. Campbell needs to be given chance. Missed Honey's workrate and pressure acts. Crameri in for a bit more impact.
