Very harsh on Ibbo.

Good to see Tuck and Grey in though. Wonder what the average age of the team is

Out: Suban (Omitted)

Well, the Suban omission was evident to anyone with eyes, and I can understand why Langdon might go (hopefully only temporarily) given that of him, Weller and AP he has been the one who has made the least impact over this last run of games - but I am pleasantly surprised about Ibbotson, although slightly worried that it degrades our defence a little.

Truth be told, aside from the Derby, Garrick's form this year has been horrendous. For someone whose major strength is reading the flight of the ball and taking a heap of intercept marks, he has lost this ability totally - and while last year saw an improvement in the steam engine that is his brain when trying to make a decision to move the ball, in the four matches so far he's right back to the glacially slow Ibbo of 2011/12.

I think a spell in the WAFL will help him regain some touch, because we're going to need him against mightier attacks than Carlton, for sure...

And of course great to see the No. 18 jumper back out there so soon. Hopefully Tucker and Grey can make the most of their chance.

Suban out means Mayne is under immense spud spotlight, hope he can turn it around, will be good if Yarran can kick a few the day before to put some heat on.
Mayne trained superbly today and Im tipping a great game by him. The spud comments makes us look like tools on here. Sick of them to be honest. I hope he shows all the knockers on Sunday. If Mayne leads as well as last game, but we can hit him on the lead better he will have a great game. Im one hundred percent in his corner.

Yarran isn't playing this weekend at all (according to a training watcher who spoke to him) and seems very much in the dog house for a reason I don't understand as he is not even playing for Peel reserves.

Finally Suban is out. Sucks for Ibbo though. Thought he played alright last week.

Although, seeing Tucker debut and Grey get another shot is awesome.

Zarke.... bleh.

Suprisingly happy with those changes, if i had my choice Griffin would have gone for Clarke which meant either Langdon or Ibbo could stay. I think both would be deserving to keep playing

I'd like to what the average age of this team is
Sutcliffe - 23
Dawson - 30
Spurr - 28
A Pearce - 20
Johnson - 31
Sheridan - 22
Weller - 20
Hill - 25
D Pearce - 30
Barlow - 28
Pavlich - 34
Ballantyne - 28
Walters - 25
Mayne - 27
Taberner - 22
Griffin - 30
Fyfe - 24
Neale - 22
Crozier - 22
Tucker - 19
Grey - 20
Clarke - 26

= 25.27*
I think that's correct, if so that is a pretty young team by Fremantle's standards.

Truly an earth-shattering development. First time Suban has been dropped under Lyon.
He got dropped late 2014 didn't he?

Love these changes (...yes, even Langdon sorry)

With Suban out - it sends a message
With Ibbo and Suban out - it sends a stronger message
But with Langdon, Suban and Ibbo all out, it sends the strongest (and most important) message of all:

"It doesn't matter if you're young, old, mid, defender, experienced or green... if you can't consistently perform at the expected level, then you'll get dropped."

With Langdon out, the message is now not one of preferring youth over experience - it's all about player performance.

Langdon out was a little harsh, but it sets the right precedent. Those next in line for the axe no longer need to be told - they know they're nearing the front of the queue.

The amount of 28-and-overs and 22-and-unders doesn't fill you with confidence though, its like an inverse normal distribution.

I'd suggest trying to get consistency into and out of Croz was the only reason Langdon was dropped over Croz. If Croz plays as badly as he did last week chances are it'll be Langdon in for Croz

Does it? Then Mayne should've been done two years ago.
