It's no long term fix, and most of you will laugh but why not try Silvagni in over sutcliffe.
I've never ragged him before but he's starting to grind my gears. His kicking has gone from occasionally daring to dead set ibbo-like safe ( down the line, down the line godnammit) . Yes silva will prob do the same but at least he can defend.
Sutty is not a defenders toe rag - tucker must be licking his lips. In the meantime I say try silva

No changes for me this week unless Mundy is right.
Suban was average, but never seems to be dropped
Mayne responded well, need him to do it again.
Crozier bad first up, but give him a few weeks
Taberner showed glimpses of good, but instantly stuffed up. needs to stay in while no 2nd ruck.

So if Mundy isn't right no change.
If Mundy healthy
Out - Suban/Crozier/DPearce
In - Mundy

D Pearce frustrates the hell out of me, but will stay.

Surely his days are numbered? What does he do that Blakely (when fit) or Tucker couldn't do?

Danyle Pearce is quite possibly my least favourite Fremantle player since Jarrad Schofield. Even the likes of Steven Dodd, Brett Peake and Matt Carr ticked some boxes. I just can't see what Danyle brings to the table. Even when he tries to do the right thing, like when Walters was roughed up and he rushed to his defence, he stuffs up because the North player just threw him on top of Walters which could have caused an injury.

What are people's thoughts on Johnson. He has lost a yard and was beaten on the lead several times.

How many teams have a combination as big as Brown/Waite/Petrie as well as Goldstein drifting forward? Johnson was poor tonight but usually he can float off his man and fill the hole. If we come up against a team as big as North again this year Collins/Silvagni need to come in.

I wouldn't be surprised to see Pavlich and/or Johnson managed next week. A six day break and the hard surface at Etihad might make it beneficial for them to miss the Len Hall game.

He was beaten twice by Swallow. Just commenting that he has lost a yard and may only have 1 more year left in him.

The Port supporters did warn us.

Langdon will go before him though - Tucker for him.

Taberner is just not worth persevering with - Collins or Silvagni will offer more.

the only way tabs stays in is because he can be a backup ruck, realistically half the team needs a spell in the WAFL.
you call that rucking?
hows the way he just ran at goldstein in the middle and blocked him instead of going up for the ruck?
how anyone thinks there is any blue sky in tabs is beyond me
he is a walking comedy show
hes gotta come out and stay out
experiment failed
out :tabs,barlow
in: clarke(if fit)morabito or tucker

i said today that tabs is the worst player in the AFL and I stand by that, so I don't see any blue sky at all.

we have recruited so poorly that we actually don't have any one else though, Hannath?

Reginald Perrin likes this.

He wouldn't even make the top three of mine that are currently playing.

How in the hell is he worse than Nick Suban?

I don't think Crozier has anything to offer at afl level, unfortunately.

i wonder if our fwd line coaches are doing any future planning...
Pav could go at any time.
Tabs is not Afl quality
Apeness is untried
The KPF well is dry after that.....

In all seriousness, it's hard to see any upside this year unless something new is tried up front.
Could we be the first to really push into a new frontier of small and mobile forwards ?
Have a single kpf up front with fast moving support acts.
Why not I say, we need to play to our strengths and we sure as $hit don't have any quality height down there. No disrespect to Pav, but he's no longer the presence he was.

I've been thinking it a while but watching tabs today solidified my thoughts.

Even if we pick up McCarthy he's not a stand, body-up and take a contested mark type..

I just don't get it. Even the Brendan Fewsters and Andrew Brownes of the world didn't have as big a gap between their WAFL and AFL performances. How can a guy go from getting 34 disposals and 2 goals in the WAFL to getting just 9 disposals in the AFL?

I understand that he's playing against better opponents but f*** me! What role are they playing him in the AFL? I honestly couldn't tell today because I rarely saw him. Was he on the bench? Surely whatever role you're grooming him for you'd play him in that role in the WAFL? Wouldn't you? It seems to me that at Peel he's playing as a prime midfielder but once he gets the call up to the top side his role is as a decoy on the half forward line.

Someone who was at the game, please help!

Think Hughes should be our next youngster in (assuming fit). He has been incredibly consistent at WAFL. He is a great height for a defender (189cm) and seems to be pretty accountable no matter who he is matched up on. And most importantly he is very attacking, likes to run and carry out of defensive 50, so might take some pressure off Johnson and Hill with our rebounding. Not much downside over other defenders we are currently using imo. Think he and Morabito could make a massive difference to our half back line later this season.

I thought Langdon struggled today playing off the wing. Much prefer we brought in Tucker as another wing option who could also play off half back. Release Crozier and Langdon (if we were to retain both in B22) to play in our forward line instead. Hill and Weller off the wing primarily as well.

Mundy back in should help our stoppage work. Thought NM got on top in 4th qtr due to early centre clearances. In place of Suban would be my preference. Would like us to consider Blakely in a couple of weeks as well.

Spot on. Agree with all of this.

Ross said in the presser they wanted to bring in Hughes and Blakely in but they both got injured

I tell you who he would take the pressure off, and that's Ibbo! He is struggling with this fast ball movement. The trouble is I don't see another role for Ibbo so it would have to be Hughes or Ibbo but not both.
