I would say minimal changes. Wells played in the last quarter and just think we need to give him game time to let him build for the last half of the year.

Greenwood is probably the most vulnerable and don’t see him as best 22.

In: Varcoe

Our:Greenwood

The likes of Reid, Moore, Elliot, Murray, Brown, Sier and Wills need to demand selection with BOG performances in the magoos.

IN: Varcoe
OUT: Wells

Thats it. Logical changes if Wells gets another rest and Varcoes fit, other than that no changes.

I wouldn't change anything at all.

1. No need to mess with a winning formula
2. We have a bye and then 2 teams who are at the bottom of the ladder.

Why not just play the young guys we have in. The team we had out there today shouldn't have any trouble with Carlton or Gold Coast. These guys we have coming back soon are injury prone - Reid, Moore, Varcoe, Elliot, Fasolo. Wouldn't it be better to leave them all out until they are even stronger and ready to go. Why bring any of those guys back against inferior opposition that we don't need them for. We have a tough run starting from Essendon.. then North, Richmond, West Coast, Sydney - 4 straight top 8 teams and one team that is unpredictable in Essendon. Save the changes for Essendon onwards.

Daicos would be stiff to get dropped. He is really starting to adapt to the speed of the top level.

F*^# he looked smooth in that last quarter coming out of the backline. Finished it off with a lovely left foot pass.
Agreed. Although not awesome, he hasn't been awful. If you're bringing anyone in I'd like to give them an extended run at least to get up to the level unless they've been complete shit house a couple games in a row

This isn’t to be critical, but it will come across quite bluntly. The club we demolished yesterday is 160 years old and has won 12 premierships, but had never had a better 6 week block % wise than leading into yesterday and we’re discussing bringing guys in?

Let’s take a step back and look at why we’re beginning to put together significant performances and what the past few premiers have done. They built continuity into their 22 and right now we’ve got that. The only bloke not currently in the senior team that would obviously improve our best 22, IMO, is Moore and he’s at least a month away from returning.

The harsh reality is like 2010 when O’Bree, Lockyer, Fraser and Medhurst were stuck in the two’s you reward the guys that are performing. As it stands none of Reid, Varcoe and Elliott coming in would improve our best 22 for various reasons. The only reason Moore should be on the radar is the performance of McDonald. Against Richmond, North or West Coast that 200cm defender that flies for his marks will be invaluable.

We will get injuries as the season unfolds and form will fluctuate so the likes of Sier, Wills, Murray and Appleby will get a look in along with the others mentioned previously. That said I am always keen for a Mayne omission ;)

Absolutely. I think I wasted the 15 minutes I spent compiling the rest of my post because of it. The underdog complex some have developed towards him is a bit baffling...

However all said and done it was there or thereabouts as the best performance he’s put up this season (along with the Bulldogs match) the problem I have is the bar isn’t particularly high. I wouldn’t be seriously angling towards dropping him v Carlton, but nor will I take it lightly anyone talking him up so they can come at me!
