Walsh said it was likely that all five players would have to work their way back through the VFL after being sidelined for extended periods of time.

(Five being Elliott Moore Varcoe Reid and Smith). I remember that guy called Smith....

This really opens up the door for Sier now. It will be between him, Brown, Wills Murray or possibly Appleby to replace Wells.

Hes great depth, and as solid reliable VFL player and and hes emergency for a good reason... Ideal "in case of injury in the warmup" emergency. Given the VFL had a bye last week and the seniors play on Sunday this week, Blair is likely to be the game day emergency again as we dont want our young players missing any more football than they already have. So possibly he'll not play at all this weekend or maybe only play a half of VFL.

Has been replaced positionally by Josh Thomas so it would really need Thomas to go our before hes a legit best 22 option.

Will not or at least should not be considered this week. Taking the Casey game as an isolated case nobody has demanded selection. Sier and Wills have the best form over the past 4-6 weeks though and also have the career upside to warrant consideration.

I would do
Murray for greenwood but I think bucks will bring in Appleby.
I would've done varcoe for wells But with varcoe still a bit away I'd bring in Sier to Debut but bucks will probably bring in Blair.

Oh silly me, here I was thinking the reason you have depth is so that you can play them when preferred options aren't available.

I'm not a huge fan of Smith but Blair is in a different category IMHO. It should be his last season but if there's a spot available this season and preferred options (Wells, Varcoe, Elliott, Fasolo, Aish) aren't available, I'm happy for him to get a game until they are.
