Essendon beating the Eagles was the best thing that could have happened for us. Should be a reminder to our boys about what happens if you take your opponent too lightly, no matter how bad they are.If the Pies lose tomorrow it will be down to complacency and over confidence in a team not quite yet used to winning consistently, and ensuring that high level effort is brought every week to every game. Its also up to Bucks and his assistants to jump on any smugness that might be creeping in.

Varcoe isn’t fit. Changes have already been done, Appleby for Wells.Varcoe is a must play if fit other than Varcoe no changes our young gun team is killing we don’t need to change much atm
Would rather Greenwood run with Cripps and Crisp keep attacking from half back.HAppy to have Apples back, but given the out, I would have preferred Sier make his debut.
Watch for Crisp to play run-with on Cripps
My gut feel for this game is that Carlton will come out firing and take the game on and we’ll come out sluggish after the bye.
They may even win the first quarter and we’ll have our hearts in our mouths and roast threads at the ready.
Then we’ll come out and steamroll them for the rest of the game leaving behind their flaming corpse and announcing ourselves to the top 4.
... or we’ll just smash them from minute 1. Go Pies!
Where should Greenwood play?
I’m normally one to be conservative, but it’s hard not to be blunt with expectations for tomorrow.
The starting midfields as named are Steele, Pendles, Phillips, Grundy, Adams and Treloar v O’Brien, Cripps, Curnow, Kreuzer, Thomas and Dow all of our 6 are ranked in the top 100 of the AFL ratings system and Carlton have 2 (Cripps and Kruezer). Straight off the bat it indicates the weight of possession and territory will be in our favour which will make it extremely difficult for Carlton to kick the 80+ they’ll need to push us.
Good Start for Collingwood
Bewdy.
Have you been to the VFLW, TD? If so, what's the standard of footy like?
Warrawee Park only a short walk from Oakleigh station

Would be happy if Crisp takes him if he goes forward.
We’ve been using 7 defenders each week Spesh.I'm not necessarily saying that's what I want.
But if you look at selection:
Appleby can only play back pocket.
The current back 6:
Howe, Dunn, Maynard, Crisp, Langdon, Scharenberg
Clearly one of those is coming out. Which basically means one of Crisp or Maynard will play on Cripps. Now that I think about it, Maynard is probably the right fit to play on him.
