To be fair, he needs an uphill off-ramp to slow down.Yeah petch has a problem with 2nd and 3rd efforts when he is playing defensively. He will miss a tackle and give up .
need to absolutely thrash carlton

I really rate Hutchings as a tagger and would like to get him back in before finals. Not sure this is the week to do it though. Cripps is just too big and too strong.
Look at how Yeo and Shuey - our two biggest mids - were able to put a body on Cunnington at the stoppages and restrict his influence. That’s our best bet against Cripps.
Still unsure about whether Waterman fits into a side that already contains JK, Darling and Allen but he played his role and I’d be happy to leave the forward line as is this week.
In: Hurn
Out: Watson
Look, its unlikely to be a belting but certainly not beyond the realms of possibility. Its just not going to happen.
Carlton have probably been the most entertaining, high scoring side over the last 6 weeks.
They are just going for it.
They have decent tall forwards and a good midfield with the best player in the league.
Defence can leak and thats where we can expose them.
But if we arent firing for 4 qtrs in the middle then we are in for a battle.
I think we should have the experience and talent to get on top of them but there is NO WAY it will be a belting.
The biggest loss theyve had under Teague is 5 points.
Can picture something like:
Eagles: 95
Carlton: 75

Well that's something to take to the bank! Lions sitting 3rd, clearly they're no easy-beats.We beat Brisbane at Marvel
Brisbane were like 37 up v Carl.
Melbourne were a good 30 up v Carl.
Doggies were 30+ up v carl.
Freo were 20+ up v carl @ Optus.
They were 2 goals up v Coll with 7 mins to go.
Ess were the last team to get on top of them and stay on top (Ess by 41)
Shows you can score v them but need to make it count as they will fire back.

Very interesting. Teague has obviously instilled some very good belief in this team. I'd hazard a guess that there was also a fair amount of 'putting the cue in the rack' element as would naturally occur when you are up 5 or 6 goals against the past decade's percentage boosters, but still, it shows in this comp if you give a team a sniff and a bit of momentum that can be difficult to stop.Brisbane were like 37 up v Carl.

100% this, sick of this campaigner running free. He makes Carlton’s ball movement look half competent, and is in ripping form right now.For god’s sake yes, can we please put some time into this campaigner? Cuts us up every time we play the Blues.

They smashed us rnd 1, but doubt that'll happen again?
Reckon you guys'll be out to whack us with an ambush and hopefully we'll be going there to bring the heat!? What's the weather like?
Great! Doesn't get any better than that!? ((;Well with the roof closed its fine with not much wind.
I do worry we are too tall, but then again it suits our kicking/marking game.
I expect Hutch, Duggan and Cripps to all be back by the Richmond game, and at least one of Waterman/Schoey will be out by then. Maybe both.
Sunday will be almost 2 years to the day since we last lost in Melbourne.

Its a good time to bring in Brander to see what he can bring, if Kennedy goes down he has to be ready to go in this finals series.
