I think McCarthy neds to be put in the team to see if he can retained or delisted. We nede to keep one of Lonergon/McCarthy for depth IMO. Kent wont be dropped for him though. But you cant keep the same team that got thumped by close to 100 pts to play for nest week.. can you?

If KK is still in the team next week we need a new coach & selection panel. McCarthy has been played much better in the VFL then KK did when he went there for a few weeks.

I cant see anyone else getting dropped Adelaide just played so much better then us.

So in other words when you lose by close enough to 100 points you don't drop anyone, therefore establishing once and for all that mediocrity will be accepted and you can get away with it.

If the coaching staff were serious, there would be 6 changes minimum for the Carlton game. Drop Kingsley, Kelly, Ling and whoever else and promote the best half a dozen from today's VFL game. No matter what. Until then, the senior guys know that they don't earn a game, they will get picked no matter what.

But if I had the power of selection, Mark Thompson would be in my gunsights. 7 years in charge, yeah we're looking good aren't we Bomber?

Did anyone else see the strapping on Kellys back?! Why is he playing if he is obviously (very obviously) carrying an injury.

OUT: KK, Kelly, Tenace
IN: McCarthy, ??, ??

N Ablett, Kingsley (mostley him), Tenace and Kelly should all go

but when u think about it, its Carlton, so lets rest Ablett Jnr, Champan and Scarlett we'll still win.

Also "rest" Ling

True but dont forget this is almost the same team that beat Freo by 60 points. Freo played shocking and Adelaide played terrific.

Ling wont get dropped, Kelly should but probaly wont but if he gets dropped KK should too. I agree the selection is crap and are just letting the seniors play crap and stay in the team so whats different about this week? It took 5 bad games for KK to get dropped.

Gardiner kicked 4 in the VFL. Him in for Kingsley...?!?

yeah, lets bring in Captain Shank at the expense of Captain Shank. Link man my arse, these forwards are all a known quantity - not much. Might as well bring in McCarthy for some farewell performances.

yes, bring in gardiner or mackie or mccarthy or whoever to replace kingsley. its worth a try. but if we lose to carlton... erm

You said 6 changes minimum...yet you can't even name 6.

No point changing for the sake of changing.

Nathan must go back to the VFL. He is contributing nothing at the moment. Guys like McCarthy and Lonergan need a chance to prove themselves (even though I think both are likely to get the chop).

The common thread before the Adelaide game was that the Cats had been training hard etc. I wonder if thats one of the reasons why today we looked so inept. Not take anything away from the Crows but we were as bad as Freo was against us. We looked flaccid and lacked influece. Thats twice this year we have looked totally beyond being a mature flag threatening side. Why did we fiddle so much in the first quarter , why do we continue to play possession football with players like Wojo, why do we continue to struggle to clear the ball, I think some coaching ideas need to change as much as anything.

Playing Nathan Ablett against Rutten pure butchery. I know the common thought is too get game time into him but really for his future benifit he must spend at least as much time in the gym. He looked totally passive today , but to be fair he wasn't Pat Malone. I just feel that he is struggling with having an influence and needs a lot more mass and an attitude adjustment is needed. Surely McCarthy could have had a game at least he would draw the Rutten type to him rather than NA

I cant believe we are playing people that are not totally fit. Why the hell is Kelly playing. If we are putting games into Nathan , we can take the same attitude towards Prismall or whoever.

We must determine what we are going to do with Bathelor. At years end , do we keep him, do we keep Slade and him? Bring him in now, at least Carlton will be a little easier for him than the Crows.

Dermie said it was a good 90 point loss, if there was such a thing. And i agree with him, no one is getting close to Adelaide this year, especially if they keep playing like they played today. So i'm not too worried about today. We'll still make the finals.

Kent must stay in the team. We are playing Carlton at the Dome next round and that will play him back into form. Expect him to kick 7 and kick-start the side's launch into finals action.
