Changes vs Carlton

Outs: Dyson, Reimers, Gumbleton
Ins: Bradley, Houli, Hird

Let Houli run with Gibbs.

Replace Gumbleton with Bradley. Let Gumby play a full game in the VFL. No need to rush him.

Let see what Keps can do against an undersized defence like Carlton.

Probably wouldnt matter, we'll get smashed in the middle by Carrazzo alone.

Carrazzo is better than anything we have in the middle as the minute. Clean hands, runs hard all day, a real workman.

Cant understand why people are putting up Lovett-Murray to be dropped.

He was one of a few who actually gave us abit of drive out of the backline, I thought it was his best game since coming back from injury.

In : Hird,Kep,Hocking?
Out: Dyson,Lovett,Reimers
hocking didn't do enough today to warrant a game. why would we drop reimers after a impressive debut. we have nothing to gain by dropping kids. i thought lovett was a bit better today.

Welsh might get dropped because of poor discipline
i would not have a problem with that. his form tofay wasn't too good either

Houli has to be in and put one of Jetta/Dempsey in as well.
houli will play, but dempsey won't be fit enough and jetta did nothing in the vfl

In: Hird, Houli, Bradley, Campo
Out: Dyson, Gumbleton (they will pace him), Reimers (nice debut though) and Welsh (undisciplened poor game)
why bring in campo??? he is slow, lazy and he doesn't man up. plus he won't be there next year. why would we drop gumby??? he was great today. presented well and he is the future. hasn't kepler had enough chances???

i agree. i thought he was pretty good and he would be a good matchup for brad fisher

in: hird, houli
out: dyson, pev/welsh/hille/laycock

remember, carlton only have the one ruckman

I though he butchered the ball to be honest.

I wouldn't drop him though as his run was pretty valuable but his disposal and decision making need to improve.

he's in our best 22, knows how to actually kick the leather to another Essendon player.

but when we don't have the ball it is like we only have 17 guys on the ground. he doesn't chase, doesn't man up and he must be the slowest guy on our list.

No need for 2 ruckman as Carlton don't have any. My changes at the moment:
Out: Laycock or Hille (probably Laycock), Dyson (disapointing thought he would do more), Lucas if injured, otherwise Pev (Unlucky but Houli's performance and Gus' extra time in the midfield mean someone needs to go)
In: Hird, Houli, Bradley

It seems to me that the remaining three games represent a chance to indulge in some sentiment and to give the incoming coach the best possible look at his list. This means playing Campo and helping Lucas, MJ & JJ over the line for the last few games with Sheedy and Hird.

This also means playing all of those players who may be facing the broom at the end of the season. This may very well include Sheedy project players like Bradley, Johns, Heff and Bolton. I pass no judgement as to the ability of these players, and there may be others, but it seems to me that these may be the heads on the chopping block with a different coach.

To sum up then, I think that we are no longer looking to the present for the last three games but both looking back and forward without much consideration for the results.

Awesome...this will mean more effective tanking than Carlton...hence no PP pick for them :D

Bring back Henneman

I must confess, that had not occured to me, but it does make some sort of sense. I guess I am crazy, but I have such faith in Hird that I really believe that any game that he is playing is a game we can win.

BTW. Best of luck with the rest of your season. I hope Mark Harvey takes you guys to the grand final against Bomber Thompson's Cats!
