Jetta shouldn't be dropped and definitely won't be traded FFS. I was actually surprised to see he only had 8 possessions because he was always in the play and laid some nice tackles. I'd like to see Knighter just give him a go at the centre bounce, i know he's very small and lacks fitness to run the whole game but he always lines up on the wing but for little reward possession wise.
Houli, Gumbleton and Lovett could all be possible inclusions at this stage. Anyone know how long Winders is out for? I saw in another thread that someone said a month?! I think that Atkinson and Nash should be dropped but not too sure if anyone else deserves to be dropped on last nights performance

Completely agree mate.

I think those 3 will come in.
for Atkinson,Nash, someone who is likely to get injured at training.

I dont think Nash deserves to be dropped but when u have blokes like Houli and Lovett coming back in someone has to make room.

Also Darcy and Tommy Hislop are due back this week as well
All of a sudden we are getting our players back

IN - Andrew Lovett , Bachar Houli
OUT - Adam Ramanauskas, Jarrod Atkinson,

I'm not entirely sure if Jason Winderlich or Tom Hislop is fit enough so I decided to leave them out.

His general dimena doesnt sit right with me. i think he has real talent dont get me wrong - but i would really like to get rid of him at years end, rather then him having another 2 ordinary seasons with us and him being worthless. ie Kepler

Have a read of the article on him in the last Bomber magazine.:thumbsu:

Out: McPhee

One of our better players last night. The only way that would work is to put NLM into McPhee's role, and I'd take Smokey in that role every time.

I'd like Rama to play a few games as a small forward. It'd be worth seeing how he goes. He looked good there last night.

Time for a spell Leeroy thoose that think he was in the play lot last night are kidding themselves he was hardly sighted.
Could someone let me know how many contested or uncontested marks he has taken in the last 3 weeks? clearly needs a rest Atkinson was better on the night played with more Intensity. IMO WE WILL BEAT CARLTON

...He's a forward pocket. If he was getting 4 contested marks a game I would be slighty concerned about the rest of the forward line...
Correct I just think he gets lost alot cant even come up the ground a bit and get himself free for an uncontested mark. Never see him link up with a mark and run with the footy in general play.

I thought Jetta had a great night last night, work ethically...

He had 8 possies, 1 clearance and 6 tackles.

Definitely shouldn't drop him, he will only get better playing in the AFL.:thumbsu:

We have to look at how they are going to set up before we start making assumptions on who we drop.

Based on Carlton's team this week (without the changes from this week)

The team for them is as: My Bombers line up underneath in BOLD

CARLTON \/ ESSENDON /\

B: JAMISON 40, O'HAILPIN 17, CARAZZO 44

F: NEAGLE 1, LLOYD 18, JETTA 7

HB: THORNTON 32, WAITE 30, SIMPSON 6

HF: MCPHEE 33, LUCAS 25, LOVETT 13

C: SCOTLAND 29, BENTICK 7, STEVENS 24

C: REIMERS 37, MCVEIGH 10, LONERGAN 36

HF: FISHER 14, KRUEZER 8, MURPHY 3

HB: HOULI 43 , RYDER 30, NASH 17

F: BETTS 19, FEVOLA 25, HAMPSON 22

B: MONFRIES 6 , FLETCHER 31, NATHAN LOVETT MURRAY

R: CLOKE 28, JUDD 5, GIBBS 4

R: HILLE 19, WELSH 12, WATSON 4 , RAMANAUSKAS 9

I/C: ARMFIELD 27, GRIGG 16, RUSSEL 2, WIGGINS 34

I/C: LAYCOCK 27, MYERS 23, RAMANAUSKAS 9

Outs: Atkinson 38, Slattery 20,

In: LOVETT 13, HOULI 43

I feel that would be our line up for next week, although i am not sure fletcher will go to Fevola, maybe Ryder, was also thinking Mcphee on a back flank against Fisher will be a very juicey match up, but no, Mcphee is not a defender, he was only AA in his B&F year, so dont play him their, he was good on Friday night against the Eagles Forward though.

Slattery continually lets me down, and Atkinson as one fellow bargist mentioned, does not look like an AFL footballer, has done acouple of good things, but would prefer to give some of our kids a go, Was thinking about no Monfries, but he showed enough to suggest their is a future as a hard at it small forward, although i have named him in a back pocket opposed to Betts, no one else could really go with betts, and no Slattery, and Jetta to oppose Carrazo as Jetta tackles, he may however run out of stram as game goes on, so he may not be required maybe someone like a Reimers could go back onto him and play Jetta off a wing perhaps instead, just some discussion points for my fellow bomber supporters,

Why is monfries in the backline?

Slattery had a good game on Friday night, 100% efficiency and kept wirra pretty quiet after half time.

Aso you only have 3 on the int

NLM -> Fisher
Slats -> Betts

Monfries is not a defender. For that reason alone, Slats gets a game.

Monfies has shown himself to be a good defensive forward. It may be his best position. He could also rotate through the midfield. Monfries could match up on Carazzo if Carazzo plays back.

Fevola is to quick for Ryder. I don't like that idea. If we had anyone who could match up with him he would not tear us a new arseh*le every time. I think we need force them to bomb into him , rather than deliver it laces out all night. How we do that, I don't know.

Might sound crazy, but Atkinson has the pace and size to go with Fevola, might be worth considering.

We could always try Pears on Fev, we know hes willing to do it, he wa top 10 in the 20m sprints in his draft year, he's a bit light though.

was thinking that he may very well go to Carrazo as that small defensive forward.

Atkinson 185cm, 84kg, 2 AFL games

Fevola 191cm, 100kg, 150+ AFL games

Fevola is going to kill us unless we work as a defensive team in the back half next week. he is to wuick for all of our players, maybe we double team him, Fletcher and Ryder maybe. Dont know.

I meant Slats to Betts. I like Gus on Carazzo.

Yes, it is crazy. Atkinson may have the athletic attributes but hasn't shown he has the footy smarts to make it as a defender. If he played on Fev, then i wouldn't put 10 goals beyond him

Six centimetres is nothing. I did seriously underestimate Fevolas weight though, lol. As for Games, so what, we have played fletch and other more experienced players to no effect. We need to try something new.

Maybe shout him a few drinks the night before the game. :p

I would not put 10 goals beyond him with our estanlised defenders. Id rather try something different and fail, rhan fail with predictability. Collingwood had success throwing a youngster (Brown) onto the best frowards. Maybe not Atkinson, but we need a different approach.

If we were to play a young defender on him then i'd prefer Pears or Ryder
