Well no Gumbleton for the rest of the year.

Ins: Lovett, Hislop? and possibly time for Hooker to get a chance.
Outs: Dont know. I want to see Atkinson and Jetta stay in the team each week if fit. Especially Atkinson, looks raw will only get better if we get games under his belt this year.

Nash showed a slight improvement in patches i thought. We need to stick with him though. Confidence is a wonderful thing in life.

Out: Atkinson

In: Houli, Lovett, Hislop

Jetta's tackling pressure is brilliant. If he could only pick up more touches Id be convinced we used our PP wisely...deserves another game this week.
Bellchambers might get a call up in the next month if he continues his solid form. Unsure who else should drop out this week other than Atkinson.

INS: Houli, Lovett, Hooker (?)
OUTS: Nash, Atkinson, Slattery or Jetta

Hooker has found some form of late and might be worth playing the role Gumbleton would of if fit. Similar type of player, think it would be a good test for him.

The street worker (Hooker) has been very good in the 2's but I would be very un-impressed to see him in the 1's, How many tall forwards do we need? Lucus, Lloyd, Neagle and Resting Ruckman is enough.

Only play Hooker when he forces the coaching panels hand, make him force one of the others out. List presure is what we are looking for not just giving cheap games away at the expense of structure.

Dead set flog is what you are.....

Rama was very important in the last quarter, i'd like to see him persisted wth on a forward flank. His kicking skills going into the forward fifty could work well.

If you seriously think Rama should be in the side then you really do overrate our players. He was complete crap, Wirra towelled him in the first half so he was put in the forward line where he cherry-picked a goal! He doesn't bring anything to the side but inspiration.

Harry Hindsight says he should've gone out ala Jason McArtenay.

In: Houli Lovett
Out: McPhee Nash
Yes that is 2 talls for 2 smalls but McPhee couldn't find a hole big enough last night. Saw enough in Atkinson to give him another week

You've got to be kidding, otherwise you have no idea! He dominated the first quarter and was more than serviceable for the other three. Took some great contested marks, and presented better than any of the other forwards.

exactly, made a few mistakes as he does but played a pretty good game in my opinion, he can be very dangerous in the forward line.. no backline is good enough to be able to put a good player on him now

he is the 4th tall forward really and can play as a small forward at times too. backlines simply arent tall enough to be able to cover lloyd lucas neagle mcphee as well as hille/laycock

Re: Who takes the Shag, Judd and Stevens.

Welsh------>Judd
McVeigh---->Stevens
Ryder------>Fev
NLM-------->Fisher
Fletch------>Loose man

Agree with this setup other than needing somebody to go to Murphy perhaps put him head to head with Stanton, that could be a little dangerous though. Plus we need to send Gus to Scotland his sweeping work across half back is very effective. Scotland is doing Heath "I'm allergic to tackling" Shaw's job better than Heath Shaw is these days.

Re: Who takes the Shag, Judd and Stevens.

Monfries on Scotland. Scotland plays a similar role to McLeod sweeping in the back half and Angus did the job on him.

Welsh on Stevens.

McVeigh on Judd.

Fletcher on Fev. I've heard Fev say before that Fletch is the best FB he's played on. Will need help though to block his leading space.

I agree with all those matchup except for Fletch.

He will have no hope of keeping up with fev on the lead the way he is hobbling around now.

I reckon go with Ryder but play a loose man in front of him, although i doubt Knighter will do that.

Fletch to Fisher and playing off him to cover Fev.

Re: Who takes the Shag, Judd and Stevens.

knights would have to start ryder on fev, got to keep pushing his development regardless

& i reckon myers should be given a run on judd just for a look see, might allow mcveigh & welsh to cause some havoc

Re: good luck this weekend lads

I'd reciprocate, but we both know I wouldn't mean it.

I hope you lose by 10 goals and have every one of your players reported.:thumbsu:

I hope they lose by a point. After the seirn. After Judd gives away a free-kick to guess who? Reimers then kicks the goal allowing us to makes topics saying Carlton got Reimered.

Re: good luck this weekend lads

why not wish you luck? you'll bloody well need it.

And it begins. They start making statements which they may well regret come Sunday night. They're getting ahead of themselves.

I had the greatest thought today. Carlton finished 8th or 9th this year, then 4th or 5th next year then, just as they were pushing for number 17, they got caught cheating again, had premiership points stripped, and went to the bottom again. It almost made the conversation with the Collingwood fan bearable. We can dream, eh?:thumbsu:
