I have not viewed a replay of the game to make comment personally on who should be under pressure and who shouldn't , so I guess I'm a fence sitter .
But for some to be calling for goo to be given the chop is ridiculous , FFS give the bloke a go, it's not often a bloke comes straight in and destroys his opponent when playing in a defensive unit who's opposition has had 60 plus forward 50 entries ?
Also why the sudden cry to cull McGuanne, he has been absolutely shitfull all year , and to think he is in our top 5 paid players ??
There is also a player who's role primarily is to negate his opponent , who's opponent has again been named the oppositions best player, sneaking under the radar ??
As for Conca , Ray Charles identified that he was spent a month ago , it's only been a lack of options keeping him in .

Everyone's playing in the back half. It's a joke. We need to find some quality forwards too.

Like I posted in the other thread a decision has to be made on Post / Griffiths / Astbury / Gourdis and where these blokes will play. Not one week in the forward line and one week in the backline bullshit.

OUT: McGuane, Miller, Conca
IN: Griffiths, King, Post

Great post dude
The game was lost in the forward 50 via lack of pressure.
Out miller webberley maybe slops
In post king

Hope morts plays well for coburg as he could be in in as we

King- Hit 'em hard
Post- Prove them wrong

LMFAO agree I can't believe some BF posters wanting to drop goo after 1 game considering mcguane was flipping ordinary and there was a fair bit of pressure in the back half
Interesting to note that the same posters are saying it wouldn't be fair to drop slops after 3 mediocre games at best

Just don't get the hate for goo...give him a chance FFS

Lol... im on Goo`s side. He had a reasonably good game, actually a great game for his first game back. People reckon he should be dropped, they should bet a weeks holiday from the forum against him NOT being dropped.

The thing with JR is he wasn't in the forward half the entire game. He was on the wing on several occasions and even once or twice I seen him in defensive 50. I think its been a directive from coaching staff to use other forwards eg vick Nahas king. Jack hasn't been used as much as last year definitely, the players might even be thinking subconsciously don't kick it to Jack because of the coaches wanting a spread. I don't know that probably doesn't make sense. But I think when Jack has led and been used inside fifty he has looked dangerous. My two cents.

16 + possessions today would indicate that he was playing as a HFF at times.

.. I don't know how you knocked him for lazy.. 9 contested possessions and 9 one percenters today... hehe he can't have shown continued stupidity .. it was his first game for the year.

You even quoted me saying some players on the continued comment so perhaps read that it wasn't directed just at Goo. I wasn't at the game but from what I saw and the commentators pointed it out too a lot of times he just gave up on a chase. Was surprised at the contested stat but considering the backline was under siege most of the day it is really not that surprising when I think about it. From what the camera showed me and comments from the commentators I will stand by it. If those at the game found him to be working hard around the ground off camera then that is a positive sign. All our defenders had high CP stats, it tends to happen when they sell each other into trouble and allow the ball to hit the ground too often.

To be far ptf I think a lot of people, especially after losses have wanted him axed. He has frustrated me for a couple of years so I don't know if its just me but I swear he fumbles even more this year than ever.

Went to ground with the ball numerous times today, which means one thing: he simply does not want to stand up and dispose of the ball, which is a worry for someone in their 6th (?) year.
I have been a defender of his for a while now, but he is not improving, nor is he even stagnating...he is actually going backwards.
Really shattered that Grimes got injured.

It was mentioned in the Press Conference about Jack playing injured. Didn't he have a bit of a knee complaint a couple of weeks a go? Might be affecting him a bit.

McGuane was far worse then than Gourdis. He has had plenty of time to learn form his mistakes. McGuane is undersized, underskilled, and has no game sense - honestly. we have given McGuane a really really good crack at AFL footy and he has come up way short - simple as that. Id rather give gourdis the rest of the season to see if he can pick up the tempo of AFL then waste more time with McGuane.

Miller - Dimma and the coaching panel have lost focus. Id rather get more games into Post and Griffiths in the ones than waste time with Miller. its only our massive problems in the ruck which are keeping him in the team.

Solution? Griffths takes Millers place in the forward line, and Vickery and Post swap in the Ruck to support - Browne.

On Browne - his second half was just passable but was still beaten. But seriously he got smashed and is unable to mark overhead or play any roll in link play. There was a moment in the 3rd quarter when i think Grigg could of given a releiving handball, saw it was browne and said 'no way'. Brownes actual ball skills arent up to it yet. He cant hit targets by hand and refuses to kick it. It shows what state our rucks are in. I hope the recruiters and list managers are searching far and wide for a solution. A geelong friend of mine watched the game today and was laughing at browne being so bad and said he didnt think their was a worse ruckman than mark blake but he was wrong. He is just not ready yet.

Conca - should be played as a sub for couple of weeks to freshen him up - not dropped.

Out:
Conca [nap time]
Batch [cotton wool]
McGuane [Really disappointed with Luke]

In:
Post [Leave in for 3 weeks and let him have a good run at it]
King [Straight back in]
and one of the following:
Morton [I hope to see him back and firing]
O'Reilly [Would like to see him given a couple of games to assess where he is at]
Griffiths [If body right]
Thursfield [One last crack at it?]
