He got injured in rd 12 i think so has had 8 weeks recovery...

Pav playing forward is the thing i would least want to see as a Blues fan. He's just the sort of player we struggle to contain. He's mobile, has fantastic hands and is very strong, so i will be most happy if he lines up in the middle.

Key match ups for this game IMO

Ibbotson to garlett- has the speed and garlett plays further up the ground than betts, i think this is a good matchup for ibbo

mzungu to betts- was mentioned he may tag judd, but to me that would be a massive mistake. tendai would be torn apart by judd. i like his one on one work and he has the speed to go with eddie, also has the height and leap to beat him in the air

crowley to judd- judd loves playing freo, and we have to accept that he is going to dominate. given that deboer and mcphee are out, we have to bring crowls in. judd isnt as quick as he used to be, so i think crowley can keep up with him speed wise... if crowley can keep judd to 25 touches and no goals, that would be a win... not confident on this though

mayne to yarran- yarran is very creative, but he is lazy, and if things dont go his way he goes into his shell. mayne can really put some physical pressure on him as well as hurting the blues the other way... thats if he can kick straight. which again is a big if

hill to murphy- murphy is a great player, but hill when he was recruited was lauded for his ability to be accountable as well as attacking. hill will have murphy for pace, and the discipline to go with him. it may also free him up a bit, help him find the ball, if he gets his confidence up, he could be the match winner

crowley is one of our fittest players... judds speed is no longer the explosive pace it once was. i dont see anyone else that could run with him

It's not Judd's speed that will worry Freo as much as his strength.
It's the tight in-pack work he does that sets him apart.

oh yeah for sure. as i said i dont think we have anyone that can go with him and stop him. his clearnace work is phenomenal, and our two better options are out. crowley can go with him for pace i think, and he is a tagger... fact is judd will probably get another 40 touches, but we have to put someone on him

You almost have to hit him form the front as well as the back, to stop him.
North applied this a fortnight ago to good effect, to the point Judd lost his cool after being free-kicked against on a couple of occasions.

Mentioned it here ealier, but your guy Barlow doesn't do a bad job at reading the ball to attain clearances.
As much as you're looking for match-ups on Judd, I hope we don't take Barlow too lightly as we did in our last meet.
