What about Mzungu for a run-with role on Mr Golden Elbows? When we played the budgies I thought he did an awesome job on that filthy sniper Embley.

Can't consider sandi or barra unless 100% to go. already have barlow and suban still working towards full fitness. against blues we need more pace.

Caaarlton's weak link is their back six. got to get it in quickly (our midfield has to break even with them)and i'd pull the trigger and play Pav up forward for more of the time.

If griffen fit I'd play him and clarke to go up against warnock and "the cruiser".

who plays on the three indigenous boys is the great concern.

Outs : hinkley,McPhee,robbo.

Ins : mundy,sandi,Anthony

Midfiield matchups will be interesting.

Barlow v Judd
Mzungu v Murphy
Broughton v Gibbs
Mundy v Scotland
Lower v McLean
Sandi v worncock
Clarke v kruezer

On paper that doesn't look to scary IMO.

Mzungu on Murphy? Very bad given how influential Dal Santo was against us on Friday. Scotland plays off the HBF so I doubt Mundy would go head to head.

Barlow v Judd. Sounds good but realistically probably won't be. Barlow is still way underdone and looks a bit slow right now. Judd would probably be far too good at this stage. Maybe next year? :p

C'mon brades you have to give credit, where credit is due.Mzungu kept dal santo to 25 & 2 gls ,one of those in junk time. Mzungu 30 dis & 1 gl.
I just think Murphy plays more like dal santo.

Ibbo --> Judd
Mzungu --> Murphy
Mayne --> Gibbs
Ballantyne --> Yarran (though Blues may try to free him up)
Suban --> Garlett
Grover --> Betts
McPharlin, Silvagni to play on whatever tall mugs they decide to move forward.

Pavlich to play closer to the goalline.

Agree with these.

Watching the game yesterday you could see Carltons weakness is their backline. I wouldn't be against bringing in Sandi to play majority of the game at full forward, with a small hovering around.

Mcpharlin will probably get the job on Walker, leaving Silvagni to take Kreuzer/Warnock.

This is probably our most winnable game out of the remaining ones, simply because we match up pretty well against them

How is keeping Dal Santo to 25 important disposals and 2 goals good? They basically stood next to each other for each contest then ran different ways

Well considering mzungu cut dal santo's disposal average for the past month or so by nearly 30%,I'm sure harvs would've been pleased.Don't worry you can't be right all the time on calling (mzungu) will be a WAFL at best.

I would think JVB would be coming in? Especially considering Carlton's small attack and McPhee most likely suspended.

Pfft, over inflated average thanks to the Gold Coast game. It was a poor job at "tagging".

And I am right about Mzungu being a WAFL player at best. His decision making and kicking 90% of the time leave a lot to be desired.

The coaching staff clearly think he's best 18, so either they are wrong, or that is an indictment on the rest of the playing list.

He's ahead of Duffield, who based on this season won't be a fixture in the 22 next year.

I do agree with you. I think it is an indictment on the rest of the playing list. You can't say these things without implication. Mzungu was near to Freo's best player on Friday night. What does that say about the rest of them?

That they were shit on friday night. Especially Duffield and Broughton. Two players that we needed given our lack of gameday experience.

It's an indictment on the game on friday night, not our playing list which in the last 2-3 years has improved markedly. If you disagree with that, then really all your looking for is the entire football department's head.

That's a very low benchmark, malpaso. I want our list to be the best, or at least on its way to being the best. Not just better than Freo of 2009.

Not many players this season have put in high quality four quarter efforts over consecutive games. Pav, Fyfe, McPharlin, and Silvagni are about the only ones I can think of off the top of my head. Sandi and Mundy when they've been in the side as well.

Where's Ballantyne's four quarters? Hill's? Mayne's? How come Mayne was great on Friday but has been terrible in a number of other games? Most people think Mayne has had a poor year, but he's leading our goal kicking. What does this say?

Don't put words in my post. I didn't set any low benchmark by my post, I simply responded to you claiming it's an indictment on our playing list. Our playing list has improved, there is no doubt about that. Have we regressed this year? Yes, but there are factors involved in that. Is our list 32 players deep? No. It was not at the beginning of the season so it is certainly not going to be now.

To claim that 'I want our list to be the best'. Do you think your the only one? Do you have that high an opinion of yourself that you think your the only one that thinks that? Practically every single poster on here wants our list to be the best, it's not yours to claim.

So after a handful of AFL games you can make the call he won't make it?
Once mzungu gets the belief & confidence,he will be away.
One of us is gunna be right.

He's a 25 year old mature recruit.. if he can't make good decisions now, he won't ever make good decisions. Handballing directly to St Kilda players doesn't win you games.
