I don't know why people think Walters is some sort of problem child. It seems to me to be one of those BigFooty self perpetuating rumours. Never read /heard anything outside these boards about him having a bad attitude.
He's a super little talent, needs a few more years in the system and he will be a great small forward, the idea that he'd be delisted is ridiculous IMO.

I honestly reckon it's all about the neck tats. I sincerely hope Walters isn't delisted next year, has a heap of talent and could be deadly in tandem with Ballantyne in the fowardline.

i hope he's being given the right kind of guidance if it is an attitude thing. young men whose talent make them a big fish in a little pond forget there's a bigger world out there if they only lift their eyes a bit. you could show him two pictures, one of ashley sampi and the other of leon davis and ask him which way he wants to go. maybe a bit drastic, but if he loves his footy, someone needs to ask him how far he wants to let it take him.

yeah i do agree with this... it hasnt all been roses for him, he has had injuries. i guess what gets me is that so many are prepared to jump on pitt's back, and yet walters is given a free pass. especially after i spoke to the coach and michael knows that the coaches think he doesnt work hard enough.... i just think we should rookie him, and hope he gets the hunger to work.

it has never been a question of his talent... i think the thomas comparison doesnt suit so much, in that thomas was probably a bit soft, but he isnt a midget, he is extremely quick, and a great mark with a high leap. he probably has more going for him with his physical attributes to get by... michael doesnt have that..... it would probably be a good idea to get peter bell to mentor him, as he IMO is probably the player he should model his game on. and we all know the unbelievable drive that belly had

Kinda agree, he didn't seem to be taking pre-season training that seriously from the sessions I went down too. However as previously said he is 20 and not all young players start their careers flawlessly. Even Dustin Martin rocked up to pre-season training overweight because he neglected the clubs individual training requirements over their holidays.

I can see Walters going either way.

Really perplexed by the spirit of Freo fans in Perth this week with a real defeatist mentality. Carlton have only beaten Tigers Roos and Demons recently and none of them are close to a depleted Freo team. I am expecting a really hard contest. Now I know the BF Freo fans are more loyal but the man on the street seems dismayed. Saying that I am hoping the Blues turn up with vigour but still it is a shame the fans have given up already.

I have it on good authority that Hinkley has been given an ultimatum similar to that given to Roger by CC many years ago. Hinkley to play on Garlett and hold him scoreless.

I thought if colonwood destroyed the saints tonite, tomorrow would be a non-contest,now I reckon the game is gunna go down to the wire.
The 8 day break is going to be a massive boost for us.

Which would be a valid point. One of the more pissweak efforts in our history. From memory (which is pretty good of this game) we actually had a good first quarter, an OK 2nd quarter, then completely went to pieces in the 2nd half. Walked away from that wondering how we could be so soft when it was a virtual elimination final.

Still, as long as it doesn't rain I reckon we're a decent chance today. Back then it was cuddles footy.
