Collins is better than A Maric. Has really good skills. But no doubt we ripped them on that trade. Grigg has been amazing this year, and he was good last year - will be top 5 in our B&F. Tell me Carlton wouldn't bite our hands off to reverse that trade right now...

Grigg was - just an ok player on a good day for the Blues. Good to see he is adding value for the Tigers. We think Collins has all the requirements to be much better than an average player on any day - he has played well and better every week he gets a run this year - you can keep Grigg.

collins is rated higher for sentimental value more than talent around here.
he was the hero against sydney. just like hunt's stock rose after kicking the winner against us. Does not in anyway, shape or form make him a good player.
Collins has proven nothing other than a few games that shows he has some potential.... grigg's exceeding all expectations

Not really a fair comparison though is it, our sub to theirs. They have Ziebel and Macintosh out, other than that they have their full list available they had a senior footballer on the bench. We are a year behind them or more in physical development and we are playing our first year pre season draft kids, might be expecting to much.
Sorry, I was wrong, 1 kick.
It's not about being fair, it's about the team and changes that may need to be made. Ohanlon might end up ok but not getting a sniff yesterday cost us dearly. Their sub was a match winner in comparison, don't care if he's played 1 game or 100.

Well done on a pretty positive thread. Sorry if some of our supporters come in with the mail.

I notice alot of discussion regarding Ivan Maric and if he is injured, if he can carry an injury this would surely be the week to do it, Carlton had no true ruckmen last week, Kreuzer was injured, Warnock Suspended for two weeks and Hampson out for the season. Would it be wise for Richmond to bring in a second tall to take the ruck work for 60% of the time and for Ivan to stretch us defensively up forward, with a key tall in Henderson also missing. Surely this would let Jack off the leash.

I don't know your side but definately understand our weaknesses you should try to stretch us for height rather than match for pace.

Out McGuane as he offers nil as a fwd and even less as a defender.
Out A Maric, he ran to a contest in the 3rd qtr got within 10m and put the handbrake on and Norf cleared it, Maric was subbed minutes later. Coincidence? When its your turn to go you go!!!

In someone to present as a target in the fwd half and give us more than one option to goal, griff or move post fwd for griff
In helbig or arnot for a run

Grigg has improved significantly since he was at the blues, he probably would have improved there too if he had the game time. He wasn't going to get game time there with the strength of the blues midfield. We had half forwards, should work out well for both parties. Both fitted a need, Collins has been unlucky with injuries too.

I agree with you Livonski what I was suggesting though was that he's not ready but we don't have any other options right now.

Hey madtiger2006, you will like this!

I'm happy to see post get another week in the side, i only got to watch the first half because of family matters and haven't seen the 2nd half yet. i liked what i saw apart from a couple kicks(so important though)! finally the marking and spoiling contesting in those areas that everyone raved about showed, yes i saw nothing in that in previous games and it was good to see. he must read what i say on here and got himself some gonads finally. keep him in defense purely for marking and spoiling i say but he has to back it up for the rest of the season, if he shows nothing against carlton then i'll be pissed!

Hopefully we can settle the team this week and not have any changes. Post played well spoiling and marking last week. don't send mcguane back to plug some hole keep him forward where he has been as good as and better than miller. at least he is laying tackles.

undoubtedly there could be some big in for the tankers in waite and kruezer.

im tipping andy collins will have a very good game.

thats another thing about post 0 tackles there was a few others without tackles and really the minimum for each player should be 3 each.

Its been my criticism of Post and nothing so far has changed. He just does not hit and split packs with massive intencity, whether its marking or protecting/damaging others. Im still not sold on him.

I'm one of the biggest Post critics on this site, however he played his best game in yellow and black on the weekend, hit the packs hard, marked the ball at the highest point, and didn't panic under pressure. It's only his first decent game IMO, but if he keeps playing like he did on Sunday then I'm all for giving him another season.

I think tackles needs to be taken with another stat for some relevance. Eg the team has 400+ uncontested possessions, tackles should be down across the board. From Memory post did a very good job at killing the ball boundary side to the point where he didn't have to tackle it was a throw in.

:DCouldn't be more wrong, matey. MadTiger won't like this. Oh, he'll love the bit about his love child Post, but you have confessed to missing the game. Under no circumstances is missing a Tigers game acceptable to MadTiger. Attending the game comes before family and everything else!!

Don't get me wrong I agree that he doesn't impose himself. On that note he certainly hit the packs hard this weekend and imposed himself. Petrie commented after match at how well post filled his space and push hard into him on every occassion.

Exactly! If it wasn't for Rusty Trombone continually spruiking Collins long before he debuted, the lad would have been just another player to have donned the yellow and black and come and gone during a poor era for the club!!

The whole Grigg-Collins debate has been misargued (if that is a word) by both clubs' supporters.
Trading is about like for like. You trade out a player for a similar player on a needs basis. Yes, Grigg was out of contract and could have walked, but Richmond wanted to do business the honourable way with both Grigg and Houli. Richmond offered pick 47 for Houli and Essendon said no due to them not wanting to use the pick (and then they went and used it anyway). Carlton came to the party and both clubs did business the right way.
Richmond needed an elite outside endurance runner. Grigg was identified. Collins is a brave, skilful warrior but isn't an elite endurance runner. We gave up something we valued for something we valued.

Post went in a few times against North. He was under a pack and gave off a nice handball. I like it when he smashed the ball away from Tarrant then he goes over and knees Tarrant while he's still on the ground. He took a nice and got smashed by tarrant and got a 50m penalty at one point. The guy can play. Rancey must be influencing Posty with the urgency of his game
