Within the first five minutes Mihocek will be dragging McGovern up the ground whilst Grundy pushes deep forward as Naitainui stands watching in the middle.

Either Grundy will end with a career best day up forward, or the Collingwood small forwards will clean up on the crumbs as a result of their markers leaving them to spoil against a much bigger opponent in Grundy.

Needless to say, H.Edwards should have been selected.

To make matters worse, we've ended up with land of the giants up forward with Dixon, Waterman, JK and JD.

Maybe Waterman plays back?

That's a very sad looking midfield...you know it's bad when not even Gaff is mentioned?
Essentially, it's Redden+NN, with glimpses of Willy...
Maybe the others will stand up, slug it out...

Nic Nat shouldn't be resting so much on the bench, he should be moved to full forward

If we float in a few high balls to the goal square you would back him more often then not to take a few grabs

Surely a good strategy for at least a couple of goals
In theory yes and I agree with it but in reality Nicnat struggles to mark the ball and only plays basically half a quarter

I think the coaching staff is happy with that

Very sad looking coach to boot. Naturally he’s learned something tactically after the round 20 drubbing last year with our ‘A grade’ mids playing

So sick of his excuses.
Not sure what else he can say, given the circumstances? I don't see it as excuses, he's just trying to put a positive spin on things, keep the troops morale up.
He could say- "Gee, it's all f*cked, there's no point in even playing, why do we bother flying there, who wants to be a coach anyway, I'd rather run along the beach with Stevie...?"

Would prefer to see Rotham in but the defensive balance wasn't working. Onus is on Barrass and McGovern to hold the key posts and the others to sort it out.

I know Rotham hasn’t had a great start to the year but wonder if his name ever came up as a wingman.

IIRC - was drafted off wing from Claremont.

Could have been an opportunity to ‘test his flexibility’

Rotham's not tall enough to be a West Coast wingman.

Rotham the likely sub, won’t be Williams and it seems cruel to hand one of the top-ups an AFL debut (and likely sole AFL appearance) then have them sit on the bench all day.

Not a bad choice, he can play on a tall or a small and Duggan can move further up the field.

This is rediculous;)next you will be saying we will kick to trhe right wing and a contest after every point and we will only bomb it lonh to undersized forwards in three on one contests after we have slowed the ball movement down enough to allow the flood. We picked this up from Port who did well to kick two and like them will ignore players in space at 35m.

Nic is in danger of losing his legacy if he doeesn't work harder and become more dangerous.

The year is now officially RS. Quite happy to see a couple of things - more experience into 'the mid kids' plus Dixon as ruck; and, changes in tactics or a few positional changes.

Let NN effectively (but unofficially of course) be second ruck. JK benched with 'soreness' so it's Jake and JD. Etc etc.

Then next week the A1 midfielders get 'H&S protocols' again ... oh bugger! Let the AFL prove we're tanking. F**k'em!

Something better than the old Simpson line (oh it was Homer not Adam) Can't win dont try.

So many excuses.
