It’s hard to fully judge him (and a few others) until they've played under a different coach.I maintain that Petch is essentially a project player, late to footy, who is around 50 games in. I think you'd be silly to throw him on the scrap heap now, especially in a developmental year. If he's still drifting in and out of games this time next year, I'll be more concerned.
I like the idea of him being thrown around the field a little more, used a bit more creatively.

He was with Rioli last week, but just seemed a bit off his game and same yesterday. Agree with the spekky stuff..always concerned about injury to those pretzel legs!Actually I think he's been far from the worst. He at least seems to be trying to get to contests and put pressure on.
At times he doesn't get a fair run with the umps and that (understandably) frustrates him. He will be a far better player in a better side - especially with Rioli to share some of the pressure. He is being asked to be a key forward in the absence of good form from JK and JD (and any other forward) especially with the ball just being bombed in.
For me his only negative is much as he's a fabulous mark I don't like seeing him compete with the bigger forwards - a specky is great but it's not a percentage option.

Small forward who struggled for three quarters in a dysfunctional forward line being fed by an under-strength midfield.
Shifted into the midfield in the fourth quarter and came alive.
Definitely should be delisted.
Is Winder ready for a chance?Bruise free. Little in the way of footy smarts. Got to be getting to the stage where the MC are seriously questioning his future. I think his position would be up for grabs if someone else puts their hand up. But who?
Didn't see another thread, predicted changes
Ins: Shuey, Rioli, Barrass, Duggan, B.Williams
Outs: West, Langdon, Rotham, Foley/Witherden, Dixon
"Not convinced Gaff is right."... although Gaff was playing a different role last night... he is an absolute impetus killer... the number of possessions he gets, especially kicks, that take away the flow when he delays, kicks defensively backwards or sideways, allowing opposition time to man up or block up holes must be so frustrating for his teammates. 26 possessions and 163m is an indication.I couldn’t drop all of you, but I did drop a lot of you.
Out: Jones (inj), West (susp/dropped), Rotham, Hough
In: Rioli, Shuey, Barrass, Duggan
Backs: Hedwards, Barrass, Gov, Hurn, Witherden, Duggan, Foley
Mids: Shuey, Redden, SPS, Gaff, Naish, Nelson
Rucks: NicNat, Dixon
Forwards: Kennedy, Darling, Ryan, Rioli, Petch, Langdon, Ledwards
Sub: Hough
Emergencies: Rotham (traveling), Waterman, Williams
Would have liked to make a few more changes but some guys survive because (a) there’s not much left to come in and (b) making double figure changes every week isn’t helping the connectivity between teammates out there.
I’m assuming Jones is out since he was subbed off and it’s a short turnaround. West will probably end up getting suspended for that tackle on Tucker, even if he doesn’t he’d be close to the first out for Shuey.
Dixon in the ruck and around the ground was one of the few positives, not sure he can back it up against Grundy but let’s let him try.

Pies will kill us with leg speed on the vast wings of the G.
petch nowhere to be seen untill the games done and dusted.

I guess the coach has a say in selections, in list management and drafting needs. Its perhaps a catch all for 'club'How is it the coach's fault that he's a spud?
Watched him run around aimlessly for most of the match, doing SFA. After, apparently, having a "big" preseason.
What's his excuse?
Busselton or Bunbury would do. The Don's are the only team who have more of a struggle fielding a team than we doouts: entire team (HS Protocol)

Speaking of quick, Langdon is incredibly slow and not all that far behind are Witherden and Foley. You can only play one of these in the side at any one time. They all have a go but Langdon and Witherden seem to be always chasing and Foley just seems to get lost in between. I’m sure some of that is the run from opposition backs and mids with little pressure from our forwards and mids but still. Gaff just wandered around on his own all dayI think peach gets a game because he is quicker than Xon. He has been given all the time in the world to develop but just doesnt seem to be a footballer.
