I've said it before and I'll say it again, bald umpires are menaces.

McBurney isn't as bad as Nicholls though.

I have a long memory...

Nicholls is without doubt a maggot of the highest order.

a few years ago against St Kilda at the Dome, he actually did not pay a free for us. I was livid for days...

Most hated umpire.

Nicholls and McInerney for me. The number of times we had one or both of them last season....

The selections were very predictable.

It was important to retain Matty Jaensch to assist Mitch Grigg in his first trip to Melbourne with the Crows.

Bernie is struggling with concussion and Tex will be below his best with his recent knee op, let alone the loss of the mullett. Jaenschy will have a huge role introducing Mitch to the best clubs in Melbourne and sorting out a retired grid girl for him.

I only hope that Tex, Bernie, MJ and the other party boys wait until tomorrow night before hitting the clubs.

Yeah those two and McLaren. Who is retired now, but clearly has passed the baton to Nicholls.

Nicholls's umpiring in the prelim last year was nothing short of an abomination. Good news for Hawthorn fans is he has upgraded his Hawks membership from Silver to Gold this year.

Nothing will stop Hawthorn if they make a GF and he umpires.

Good to see Lyons is back in, but what are we gaining by keeping Jaensch in and Grigg out?
We're desperately trying to find/create a small forward given that we don't have one.

It isn't working but I don't mind us giving Jaensch a bit longer. Would want to hurry up and show something though.

My hatred for Nicholls is at ridiculous level after last years prelim! Some if the most blatant cheating I've ever witnessed and I saw Marion jones run back in 2000!

Was it him that wanted a lap of honour at the GF with the retiring players?

The worst thing was we had Nicholls/McInerney in the Semi against Freo then AGAIN a week later.

The only problem with my bald theory is that McInerney has quite a bit of hair.

I'll work on it and come back to you with something.

If those blokes died you'd think there would be plenty of spare seats at their funerals. Takes a special kind of person to be a professional maggot.

My hope is that Grigg is an in but we are just waiting to see who for. No point dropping jeansch if he then has to come straight back for Wright/Vince/Thompson.

Too right.

There is something there that the club isn't telling us. Boosting (attempting to) Jaensch's trade value? Giving him every opportunity before moving him on? I was on the "don't mind giving him a bit longer" wagon when he was moved from defence to forward. Not sure now. Perhaps the selection panel rate him?o_O

I find it incredibly predictable that a group of posters, formerly known as the MOB, have once again been strangely silent about the non-selection of Mitch Grigg. Despite the endless vomiting of bile about selections in 2010 and 2011, not a word from the usual suspects about the unfathomable non-selection of Mitch Grigg.

Mitch is hardly a KID, he turns 21 at the end of this year and had his first tatse of senior football with the Redlegs in 2009. He has been the most outstanding player in the SANFL over the last 2 months (since Jarryd Lyons has been playing the odd game with the Crows, resting and accumulating frequent flyer points as the travelling emergency).

Have you guys lost your pitchforks? Let's get with the program.:p

I picked Collingwood by 55.

Hopefully I'm wrong but tomorrow nights game has a feeling like that Friday night St kilda game in Criags last year. Hopefully we don't get completely embarrassed.

I've been saying to my mate all week that last weekend's game felt like the Essendon game the week before the St Kilda thrashing (failing to ice the game, poor umpiring, poor goal kicking, injuries, etc).

I'm predicting this game will be over halfway through the first quarter after Pendlebury puts them 40 points up after Jacobs grabs the ball out of the ruck and gets caught.

You guys play the G pretty well I thought. Surprised by the lack of belief. Tomorrow night is a massive danger game for us IMO.

All the best, besides this week! :thumbsu:

We're not playing shocking football at the moment (No where near last year, obviously); there's just a lot of discontent over the selection of certain players, and the lack of opportunity others are getting.

Hard to see a lot of light at the end of the tunnel especially with no good draft picks too.

Just wanted to jump in and say that I''m really surprised by the attitudes in here! I understand that you currently have issues that need to be adressed, however we're only just going ATM and with all the O'Brien stuff from earlier this week we're every chance to come out flat as tacks.

I think it's also worth noting as well that Carlton were always going to run out of gas after the Sydney match it was always a matter of when not if which gives our victory a little more perspective...

You're mids may have struggled of late, but they match up well against ours, there are a number of players in your forward half that don't suit our defenders and your backs have solid records against our forwards (Rutten v Cloke in particular)...

Yeah its hard to believe MacKay and MJ are in ahead of Grigg

Surely Grigg is playing and Bernie or Wrighty won't play. They can't leave him out again
Hmmm, weren't we all convinced that Lyons would surely come in when they ripped him away from Glenelg to boost his frequent Flyer points.

I actually believe that one of Jaensch, Mackay or Porplyzia will have a good game (and the other two will have shockers). If you give "fringe" players enough chances they will eventually play a good one. In the case of Porplyzia "a good one" hasn't meant being in our best three players on the ground, simply being a good contributor. A young KID on the other hand can be best on ground, win us the match and after two quiet games it's "off to the SANFL for a month laddie".
