In: Tex, Truck, Dougie, Otto, Cameron.
Out Jeanch (inj) Lynch (inj) Reilly (crap) Shaw (crap) Pets (invisible).

Hartigan needs to stay to learn off the Truck.
Time to try the Betts / Cameron forward duo at the feet of Tex / JJ / Pods.
Still think this, only one in doubt is Otto as he played ressies, maybe martin.

Nah I heard a rumour Petrenko is gonna play, as is Martin and Porplyzia with Grigg out and Cameron is getting held back another week
Not sure where the Porpoise rumour has come from, can't seem him being remotely near selection atm. Martin wouldn't surprise me though

Our club has made some baffling decisions in recent times but pulling a rookie out of SANFL footy just to have him watch the game would be up there.
They could very easily be just managing his workload as a first year player, but I hope he's playing

Sando if you are reading this, use the image below as inspiration for Wednesday arvo selections.

I think he's taking the piss as I'm pretty sure Porps is injured.

Just trying to scare a lot of people on this board haha

Little bit off topic but still on the game Thursday.
Loving the idea of a live band on 1/2 hr before the game, could probably stretch that out to 45 mins before.
This week the Potbelleez. Hope it's a regular thing. maybe hunters & collectors or living end would be great bands to have on.

Big spend every week. But yes it's a good idea.

Personally would like to Greg Champion working with the crowd pre game.

Let's get one thing straight, a couple of blokes with a Mac on a desk is a not a band. The Potbelleez are awful.

Would've loved The Living End or similar band.

Drugs Are Bad Mackay?
Sorry to intrude,
But one thing Ive noticed reading this thread is that it seems a lot of you are unhappy with Sando and the way he goes about his selections.
Surely you wouldn't bring JPod into the club to play in the ressies??
Also, when was the last time that Adelaide bottlomed out and had a full rebuild?
It seems to me, as an outsider, that you keep on having mini rebuilds or just top up with experienced players.
Very fair observations. You've hit on a bit of a sore point with some of our fans.

We've never bottomed out and rebuilt. Our previous coach said that it was possible to build a squad that regenerates, that you could contend every year and could continue to pick your best 22 every week. A noble aim but perhaps not realistic. The attitude continues today. We refuse to accept the boom/bust system the AFL has tried to set up with the draft/salary cap and thought we could be smarter than that.

For instance, many of our fans bemoan our lack of top 10 picks but our 'contend every year' strategy actively avoids early draft picks. We've never cut our squad to the bone and finished really low down. We haven't savagely attacked free agency. Until Bernie Vince last season, hadn't actively shopped around a player aggressively in trade periods. There hasn't really been a clear strategy to climb the ladder. We're seemingly content to remain somewhere in the middle.

Also, how do think you guys, the Adelaide supporters, would feel if Sando cleaned out the list like Buckley has in the last two years?
By that I mean, getting rid of your older players, who have been stars and admired for a long time, and backing in the next generation of kids.
I know a lot of our supporters bagged Bucks out for getting rid of "The Rat Pack" last year but it seems to be working out alright so far.
Thanks. Rusty
I always look back on Collingwood's 2008 season. You debuted a ridiculous amount of players yet still made finals (and knocked us off at home). Fast forward 2-3 seasons and you have yourself a premiership team. Two things from that:
1) Playing youngsters doesn't automatically mean you lose matches
2) The turnaround can come quickly if you invest in talented youth

It was a clear strategy to build a premiership team. What you've done now is equally bold; cleared out some senior players, stocked up on some early picks and used FA/trading to fill in the gaps. Whether it is ultimately successful time will tell but you are obviously doing something proactive to bridge the gap with the top teams. There is a plan in place.

Our plan is not so clear. Bringing in Pods and Betts (experience), trading out Vince (experience)? Doesn't really make sense.

Wasn't Cameron meant to get upgraded today?
Has to happen tomorrow if he is in the squad. Be filthy if theyve just given him the week off

Righto boys and girls, we're going to shift pre-match discussion on teams, match ups, tactics etc into the official preview thread.

That saucy Justice of the Peace has delivered the goods with a spell binding Face Off. Do yourself a favour and have a gander.
