That’s actually not true at all. Have you watched any of the SANFL games? He is not looking slow and is absolutely killing it. It is ridiculous to see people writing him off. He is in incredible form and deserves a shot more than anyone.

Pure leg speed does not result in speed of play in the AFL. Precise ball movement with good foot and hand skills trumps pure leg speed.

Huge difference between SANFL and AFL level.

You have only have to look at last year when he came into the team to see that the speed of the game had caught up with him. He is not the type of player we need in the team at the moment.

Every Colllingwood midfielder would run rings around him.

I thought his ball use was awesome last year, but he struggled a bit to impact consistently playing an outside role at half back.

On a wing or in the guts I reckon he would do just fine. Atley probably gets the nod as a midfielder first though, simply because of his age and legspeed but I would be pretty happy with Trengove getting a chance. I also think his form is much stronger than last year, as well as the team as a whole so he would almost certainly look much better.

I like Atley but wouldn’t be bringing him in for Gray, as we have way too many players of his type.

Yep exactly why Trengove is not an option either in fact he'd need the entire midfield to come down with gastro supernova to get a game.

He setup 3-4 goals himself. Didn't get a whole lot of it but when he did something happened. I wouldn't drop him. We need a small forward.

yeah, not exactly groundbreaking but i would be happy with those options ahead of doing something like Frampton or Jonas for Gray, which is apples for oranges but something we've done before.. Not saying Frampton or Jonas can't come in but Marshall or Lienbert would have to make way if they went down that path.

I don’t think Mayes plays the right position, but we did say we wanted to play him as a forward when we recruited him.

Now I think about it I wonder if Burton is a chance to move up forward now that Lienert is back?

i listed R Gray replacements, i'm not sure replacing R Gray with another tall is going to be okay for team balance.

Schofield saying Robbie's replacement "doesn't have to be a like for like swap" means we'll likely bring in Amon for Robbie. I would like to see Farrell get a run soon though, and reckon he'll get a chance while Robbie's out if he plays some good SANFL footy. Also assuming TJ is fit, he will come in for Lienert.

id maybe drop drew for atley, bring in motlop to play deep forward, Jonas for Lienart. Collingwood have some very good contested ball winners with Pendles, Trealor, Grennwood, Adams, Sidebottom, Beams, Atlet certainly woudlnt go astray

Guys.

Drew will not be dropped for Atley or Trengove.

Drew is superior to both of those players.

I really want Billy to play this week and Robbie makes way for that, however, I also believe that Amon may come back on as well.

Ken will also be tempted to pick Motlop, despite his average form on the weekend.

Therefore, Drew may lose his spot, unless they decide to drop Bonner or DBJ. With Lienert in, westhoff playing wing / defense we could cover those defenders.

But they have been good too!!

I reckon Jonas misses another though and they will look to keep Lienert in the team to help v Collingwood's forwards.


What I would look to do....

Out Gray
In Frampton

Tempted to also drop one of Lienert or Bonner to get Amon in to the team but am hesitant.
