It's not the fact that Amon played well in the first couple of games. It was the way he played them. Team orientated and hard working. We need Amon's style of play more than we need Mots. Mots can't cover the ground the way Amon can. He won't rack up as many possessions. There is no coincidence that when Schoey arrives Amon plays better. Amon is the prototype of the player that Schoey was looking for. Schoey played alongside peter Burgoyne. Amon's injury was one of the most disappointing in the first couple of weeks. He just needs to come back into the side to remind you why he was in our starting 22, the best runner in the off season and is looking in great shape.

I guess that is fair to say. If this club is going to go anywhere, we need Amon to become a blue-chip player. The way he was playing before he injured himself is what we have been crying out for. The influence of Schoey was really starting to show on the young man and was definitely using his best attributes to great effect. That attribute was work-rate. He kept running hard for 4 quarters. There are limited seats on the Amon train. I suggest you get a seat right now while there's room
I'm just saying we are very quick to write players off and then equally as quick to jump back on them, i'd rather sit on the fence for bit longer. Big couple weeks coming up.

So sitting down for lunch earlier on, I spot an article saying that we've made 1 change. I think you beauty, teams are out, it must be 6pm already. Look at the clock and its only 12... Seems to be getting earlier with the squad announcements each week!

Don't have much choice when a team flies out early, reporters are there at the airport counting the players as they check in.

Absolutely the mature and right call. Bringing in Motlop would have sent a really poor message to the guys who are performing well in the SANFL. Farrell was never coming in after he put in a sub-standard game on the weekend, as much as I like him.

Karl has added physicality to his game, and that was what was missing. He looked great in the pre-season, if not a completely different player. He has responded really well to some serious pressure. He was given the mother of all bakes by the coaches middle of last year and as a result was half way out the door, but with no takers in the trade period he's put his head down and worked hard. Deserves his chance.

I'm not convinced with Karl at AFL level sorry.. hope I'm wrong.

You don't have to be 'convinced' just yet, I'm not either, but at the very least he deserves his chance based on his form to date at both levels this year.

My only fear is that with bringing in Amon for Gray is that we will now play Sam Gray much deeper in the forward line. Feel like we are one forward short at this stage and have one midfielder too many. Would not be surprised one bit to see SPP spend considerably more time at half forward this week.

Amon coming in does help the overall midfield balance though which I like. Ken has always backed a running style at Marvel and I suspect that will be no different tomorrow night.

Collingwood were there to be beaten last week the Bombres just couldn't lay the blow & it wasn't bad umpiring it was **** Dylan Shiel that cost them.

Edited for accuracy.

Yeah that cancels that out...

Now for De Goey to get the sniffles to cancel out Gray? :)

I'm sure he gets them a lot. Doesn't impact on his play so much.

Also I'm fine with Amon coming back in, had a great start to the year and adds a lot.

Farrell was my preference, would have been fine with mots too but at the same time I'm really hoping this sends a message to mots that ignites a fire in him - his best is absolutely elite, he needs to find a way to get there quickly and stay there consistently

If I was Joe Atley I'd be seriously wondering if I'd be getting a regular AFL gig at norf. Ladhams and Frampton would also have to be considering their place in line too.

Atley has shown bugger all until last week. Ladhams has only just started playing to a high standard.
The only guy questioning his place at the club would be Frampton imo.

It’s easier not to write them off, then I don’t have to jump back on.
