Gus might get up next week - He was carried off the ground by two trainers because he couldn't walk, but he was doing some run-throughs before the siren went. He's looking alright and could very well play next week.

I didn't see much of Neagle's injury, my mate told me that he went down the race as soon as he came off, so it can't be that good.

Welsh will get up, he was taken off because of a blood rule, and he looked OK when the siren blew.

OUT: Neagle (inj), Michael (omit)
IN: Fletcher, Hislop

We can't afford to drop anyone. Our injury list is too big.

Out: Neagle, Monfries

In: Fletcher and whoever is fit

Laycock may be having a poor run but at least he has actually got to a few contests and taken a couple of marks in the last few weeks.

Well Ant robus, he's being paid a lot of money to get to a few contests here and there. Not as good value as the old chicken parmigianas you dish up.

I would like to see Hooker get a game. It's a shame Bendigo have the bye this week, I reckon if he performed reasonably well he would be in line to make his debut.

If Gus/Neagle don't come up, then maybe Hooker can play their role.

People assuming Mal will be dropped if certain players are fit, i know he's not in our future plans, but surely he was alright today?

Mal was excellent today. You can't drop him on today's performance. Is still carrying an injury and may not have played if Fletcher was fit.

Is going to struggle fitness wise to come up next week.

Was much more impressed with Atkinson today than I was with Dyson and Lovett-Murray. I know he got 21 touches, but when NLM has the ball, the nerves I get haven't been that busy since Michael Symons was around. The thing that frustrates me about Dyson is that he shows how good he could be (vision he showed kicking it across the ground to lloyd i think? early on? can't remember, had a few), but then every other time you know he'll butcher it. Still, give him a chance, he shows the confidence Leroy needs.

On Laycock, at least he gave us a chance in the last quarter, no-one could kick straight apart from NG Brown who is an absolute gun, if that was Hird today he wouldve been written up in the media for the next 3 weeks. Obviously Fletch in if he's fit, but if I was Knighta I'd show confidence in everyone else and tell them to have a real crack next week, I'm sure Welshy and Gus will get up.

similar to previous meeting there is no matchup for mal michael against collingwood so i'd prefer a quicker player - say one of magin, williams or hooker given an opportunity. mal got a knock to his leg or foot at one stage which also slowed him down so might need a rest anyway.

it appears neagle may have aggravated his stress fracture i'm guessing so i'd be ruling him out. welsh should be alright i'd say and monfries 50/50 at best. fletcher also has an ankle problem but he'd probably a better chance than monfries.

laycock was alright today - he did kick one goal to put dons back in front and passed one to lloyd. he was a solid contributor. sure he possibly could have won the game but at least he was in the position to do so.

out: neagle (inj), michael, monfries (test)

in: fletcher (test - hooker to replace if fail), rhys magin, john williams

i'm not sure that hocking or hislop will be fit enough...

Collingwood seem to struggle with small forwards, so i reckon they should bring in magin. i know he isn't really ready, but a forward line with jetta, atkinson, and magin in it my cause some problems.

So do we, so we probably want Atkinson back on a Thomas or Didak type.

Id take a half fit Hislop over Williams any day of the week. There would have to be questions asked if Mal was dropped and 3 debutants played.

I reckon his defensive skills are the weakest part of his game. He really struggles to stop an opponent even at VFL level.

But we've got very few who can play there, so he may have to.

Knighta stated in the post match that we have 26-27 available players to choice from ATM including rookies ...

Well, dependent on injuries I would have thought it would be:

Michael ======> Fletcher
Monfries =====> Magin
Welsh ======> Williams
Neagle ======> Hooker (if Welsh is ok possibly change to Williams and play Lloyd at FF).

Its actually not that difficult to do. And if Hislop or Hocking are fit to replace Williams in that, all the better.

If Neagle is injured and Fletcher comes up alright. Why don't we put Mal Michael as a replacement in the fwd line. Just a thought
