Col Sylvia needs to come in and give us some bite in the forward line.

Now that Aussie will be out for another month, his zip and pace up there will be missed .

Apart from that , I can't see wholesale changes being made. Spemcer and PJ did ok and deserve more game time together. I couldn't see Meesen getting a game just yet.

We need some marking options up forward, hence Sylvia and Dunn should play.

Bennell and Jetta will be better for the run, but should now spend some time at Casey.

Don't think we can afford Jetta, unless someone like Maric with a bit of zip can replace him. Ditto Bennell in a lot of aspects, how far is Whelan away?

Whelan still 2-3 weeks away.

Can't drop Morton on that back of that one average game, in the second half he actually started to get into the game a bit. Must play against Collingwood, if he has another average display then maybe consider giving him a run at Casey but not this week.

That would be the only change I would make and I'm not even sure I would make it, let Sylvia run around at Casey again.

If Bennell is dropped, you can bet your bottom dollar Buckley will have to line up on of the Pies' smalls next week, which I don't think any of us want.

I wouldn't drop Jetta now Aussie isn't fit, otherwise we'd have a very slow forwardline.

I am also loath to drop Spencer, I liked his game more than PJs.

How to fix the forward line? Green and Miller back to full forward. They represent the strongest leading options we have and should be kept deep. Bate and Petterd in the lead up roles. Also no more dropping back men, maybe one midfielder eg. Bruce or McDonald can be responsible for dropping back but lets not start with a 5 man forward line.

2. Probably can't drop both of them. Bennell I thought played beautifully, no point dropping him. Buckley I'd usually drop but his preseason was good and no one is crying out for a game.
3a. If McLean gets dropped then the tag goes to Jones, who then gets 4 touches in a game.
3b. Martin might have deserved his go over Rivers, but Jared is such an important and talented player he needs the time. Martin might be fighting for a spot with Frawley at the moment.
4. I agree, underrated by me as well. Will go straight to Cloke.
5. I'm not sure if he is still alive, and don't like his chances of getting a game this season. Bit of a shame really because I thought in his first nab cup game in 08 he showed some talent.

I feel strangely confident that our backline can completely contain the Pies forward line, am I the only one?

I can see Warnock absolutely murdering Cloke, if Bartram can shut Medhurst out like he did Harvey and Frawley is perhaps the man to go to Anthony.

I believe we are a huge chance in this game, just need to make sure we convert on the scoreboard.

Collingwood's scoring strength is in their small forwards, why we'd take out three possible defenders and put in two talls and a HFF is beyond me.

Too many drastic changes after a round 1 match, maybe if they had another 1 or 2 bad games then yes but not after 1 game which was the first game of the season.

Under no circumstance do I believe we can have a ruck combo of Meesen and Spencer, which I think gives too much leniency to Johnson though sadly.

Why are people asking for Miller and Bate to be dropped? Yes they didn't do much but the delivery they got was crap, even Franklin would have struggled to kick goals with the crap we were sending into our forward 50.

Don't drop Buckley, simply play him in the right position...MIDFIELD!!!

I'd be tempted to drop Jetta for Sylvia and bring in Dunn for maybe even Bennell. We need more midfield rotations. The only guys that went through the middle 3 were McLean, Jones, Moloney, McDonald and Bruce. 5 isn't enough these days. They were ****ed by the end of it. Both Sylvia and Dunn can have midfield stints.

Also, you can't drop McLean, to the guy who suggested it. He dominates against Collingwood.

Bennell will be good but will get exposed with collingwoods forwards.
Spencer is just lacking experience neccesary to compete with good ruckman, which i feel was our major downfall last week.
Miller is just a waste of space.. Looks like tarzan, plays like Jane.

Col deserves his spot back and is an important part of our forward stucture, which is screaming for a target.
Martin is an interesting one, I would personally look to play either him or Garland as a tall forward.. I know it might sound silly, but it might work. maybe Stef might cause a bit of trouble down there with his height and agility.
And Meesen.. well, lets once and for all see what this blokes got.. If his no good, play spencer week in week out and get some game time under his belt for future.

Mate, it's not our backline we should be worried about, it's the fact that our forward line is non existent at the moment. We have a fantastic stable backline that will get better with experience

We also need someone to run with Thomas who is very talented but runs around on his own and gets cheap kicks.

If Bartram, Cheney and Garland take Didak, Davis and Medhurst, we might need Dunn to play a tagging role on Thomas. He has the stamina to stay with him and has played the tagging role quite well previously.

I think Dunn and Maric can add to our firepower up front with Dunn also capable of running through the midfield.

I think we can afford to keep Spencer and Johnson as our ruck duo, considering Collingwood's relatively weak ruck combo.

Sylvia hardly dominated at Casey and needs to show some desperation to truly earn his place back.

I never said we should be worried, my point was I believe our defenders will be able to hold them down to a beatable score.
