Newton and Meeson should be kept as far away from our senior team as possible.

Jake Spencer although green had a real crack for us on the weekend. Every game we can get out of him the better he will be.

Sylvia needs to come in this week if he has pulled his socks up. He is in out best 5 players if he is fit and firing.

Bate should be moved out of the square. He is a much better lead up player rather than when they bomb it on his head. He isn't really a good one on one player. I'd play johnson deep when he is resting.

Neville definately holds his spot when aussie is out of the side. And maybe even when he is back in.

Jamie Benell did some good things and if he gets dropped to make way for someone like colin or martin....he will be back in good time.

Our backline held up reasonably well on the weekend, although the two crumbers from north were a bit much for us at times.

I'd like to see bruce released from a run with role too. He can be alot more damaging than that.

Are you serious, this guy is out and out our best player and will cop the number 1 tag every week. He was molested at every contest on Sunday and battled hard and had 19 touches (servicable game), wen jones last yr was tagged heavily his game feel to peices and was dropped to the maggos.

Mclean is our best player, he does a lot of grunt work good skills and by copping the number 1 tag it will free up jones and moloney to play well like they did on Sunday.

I reckon our main focus this year is teaching kids to play at this level. Can't see the point of bringing Bennell or Jetta in for one game then dropping them. Give them a taste against the old enemy in front of a big crowd. They will learn a bit from that. Sure, they will go back to Casey when the likes of Whelan & Wonna become available but both showed some good glimpses last week & deserve another crack.

Buckley isn't a defender's backside & should be played on the wing where he can exploit his only real asset - pace.

Drop Brock & Jones gets to relive the nightware of 2008 again with the opposition's #1 shutdown player going straight to him.

Martin should be at least in the emergencies in case Rocca is named. Rivers will get better with every game

McNamara copped an injury during pre-season. You can be patient with him. The youngest player of his draft, he is only a couple of months older than Bennell & Jetta.

Thomas doesn't worry me that much.

On the weekend, Thomas was easily the best out of those four. His run and creativity was excellent. The other three had stinkers.

Should be a good game. Melbourne tend to match up against us very well and when we do win, it's always after a long struggle.

I don't think Collingwood will make heaps of changes. Rocca shouldn't play. Beams might come in for someone like Ben Johnson or Alan Toovey. The rest of the team should be the same.

Is Robbo a serious chance of playing, I think the Pies struggle big time with smaller forwards.

Beat them twice last year basically off the back of small forwards, nobody in particular, just all the runners chipping in for goals, Pies midfield isn't the quickest or deadliest going around.

I think it is where you can exploit them.

Finally someone I agree whole heartedly with.
Why elevate and play Spence Rd1 to watch him put in a half decent effort and go..well yeh we'll give Meesen a go and see how he goes...The Spence untill Meesen's form overtakes him. Morton, Bate just about undroppable. McLean undroppable. Millers played worse and we need someone to provide a contest for our small fwds. Jetta played well. Benell might be the unlucky one for Sylvia. Otherwise Buckley.

Yeah, i agree with the comments you guys made RE: McLean (the comments i made) and the other ones too ..

If Jones is no1. he'll probably do worse than Brock under a persistent tag. I just thought Brock could have done a bit more on Sun. considering his stature at the club....Good players break tags, RE: G. Ablett jnr, etc...

Brock is not the quickest or most agile guy going around and i worry about his ability to influence a game under that sort of pressure...

guys i seriously think we should be playing another tall up foward... johnson isnt worth a pinch of s**t up there and bate is at his best on half foward leading up as is miller... much rather sylvia or even newton from the square...

on the other hand, i think were wasting one of our good tall backs and maybe one of them should be tried up foward... if martin isnt going to get a gig in the back half y not chuck him foward or even play him as a mobile ruck... hes to good not to be in our side but i think our four talls down back are the right choices at the mom...

and buckley has to play through the midfield, he and flash are the only players who can break the lines for us, and by god we need that...

Bennell-Davis would be an interesting match up, and a nice feather in the cap if bennell was to break even with Davis and minimise his affect on the scoreboard. Does Bartram usually take Davis? Or does he go to Swan/Pendles?
