Out: Macdonald, Morton
In: Frawley, Bail

Frawley and Rivers to play on smalls. McDonald and Sellar to take the KPP.

I'd like to see Neeld persist with Garland upforward.

Macdonald was alright without being outstanding. Frawley takes his place obviously...

Morton was below par. Kicked a nice goal but that was it. In many cases last night he seemed out of place and didn't go hard enough at the footy.

When has Rivers played small and why now?

Just let me get this straight. You are absolutely bagging our own player when he's a first year player, a young kid having a go and played on supposedly 1 of the best kpf in the land. Yet you defend Hurley by saying it wasn't a night for big men.

hhhhhhmmmmmmm Hurley 193cm Tmac 194cm.

How is noticing a glaring deficiency in his game bagging him? I've been very impressed with him but it's going to be a big problem going forward if his kicking doesn't improve dramatically.

Also I should have been more specific, when I say big men I meant forwards (ie Hurley and Clark). It's a lot easier to defend in slippery conditions than it is to mark the ball as a forward.

Also McDonald isn't a first year player.

Do you even support your team & it's players??

I do and I also know when they were drafted.

In Frawley
Out: Sellar

Unless they have Sellar lined up for Cloke, he can go. Or Joel MacDonald. I like Joel, but could just be a match up issue.

People bagging players for bad disposal need to realise that it takes a while for players to adapt fully to the pace of AFL level. Extra pressure and the quickness of the game have an effect on their disposal, and the only way they improve is by constantly playing. Jones is the best example of this. First few years he was easily criticised for his kicking, and he has improved out of sight. T Mac and Blease, Nicho etc. will only get better by extended exposure at the top level.

Fair call about knowing draft history, you're still wrong about the kid, will not be dropped and the only reason Sellar got a game is because Frawley was a last minute out.

I know he won't be dropped, I would just send him back to Casey to work out a few kinks and a little break from the top level fresh for a crack at the 2nd half of the season.

I reckon Frawley wont come back til after the bye.

Theres just no reason or point to rush him if he has plantar fascitis, and its something that only goes away with rest.

No change.

Fair point.

Came in hard for the ball in areas especially in the last quarter but yeah he probably didn't do enough.

I disagree with this - thought he worked quite hard last night, gave good run and managed to get into space. He'll never be a 'hard at it' type of player, but IMO plays a valuable role (though he had a shocker last time he played).

Looks like they might be with Pendlebury who hurt his knee today.

Of course he may well play if scans are clear, but theres a decent chance they rest him.

Regardless of the changes, just don't put Rivers on Cloke*

Wouldn't expect too many voluntary changes. I think the intent shown will be rewarded as this was a massive focus for Neeld pre-game.

Chip is probably an exception to this because he is clearly in our best defensive line. Maybe J Mac makes way.

*Will induce flashbacks

nothing much in it, we were up by 50 points when he was sub couldve played on if it was necessary. we will most likely get tarrant and swan back next week and possibly reid aswell.

Rivers has nearly always played on him and been beaten once in a thumping. Meh.

We won't risk Swan and Reid just for a Melbourne match. So having the bye the week later is a bonus :thumbsu:

What are you saving Frawly for?

Mysterious foot injury.

I don't think you can drop MacDonald and Sellar, they both played really well and will send a poor message to the group. Yes Frawley needs to come in, it's a tough one...btw I did say early last week that Garland should play forward :)

Why would we risk Frawley against a team with dysfunctional key forwards?
