I couldn't agree more regarding Watts, Bail and McKenzie have proven themselves and deserve to come back in if fit. These two play the game in a manner that the Dees need to for the future, so to include Miller would be a backwards step.

If i see one more person say Bruce was our best defender on the weekend I will loose it, he was too slow, could only handball and always put players under pressure, he missed tackles and couldnt apply pressure because he was too slow. I have always being a huge fan but this year the game has passed him and i'm sorry but at this stage there is no room for Bruce. We missed jordie badly and i hope he can come straight back in along with bail.

fack what i wud give to see bruce dropped...:thumbsu:

According to the Dogs board, Johnson is out this week which is handy for us.

I'm willing to give PJ another chance which is something I never thought I'd say, Jamar has done very well so far this season and if PJ comes into the side then Jamar can spend more time down forward than he has been able to so far this season.

Also I'd back him to be more of a goal threat down forward than Martin has been.

Bail was a late withdrawal from Casey over the weekend, so it makes it hard to play him this week for Melbourne. Mckenzie is not listed on the injury list so he is likely to come back in;

In;
Mckenzie
Johnson

Out;
Petterd
Martin

Would like to see Johnson come in as 2nd ruck, we need to give Jamar more rest and allow him to play fwd more especially now Petterd is out for the season.

Possibly Rivers for one Gysberts/Cheney/Struass for team balance.

That's my changes as well, but I'd drop Rivers for Maric as that extra forward option.

Gee I'd kill for Jurrah right now :( .

Would love to see Gysberts come in as early as possible. Or maybe bring him on for a debut against the Blues, and he can whip McLean's sorry ass :D

I just mentioned this in the injury thread, but it’s probably more relevant in here.

If Cale gets through his fitness test what do think his chances are of coming straight into the senior side to replace Petterd?

He should have been spending heaps of time in the gym and with his massive natural running tank might just be able to slip straight into the forward line.

Some folk on demonland with word that Hughes will debut, guess we find out for sure in a couple of hours, but good luck to the kid if true, hopefully he grabs the chance

Just looking at the Melbourne website.

Hughes to debut

MELBOURNE will unleash its fourth debutant this season with rookie forward Danny Hughes set to play his first AFL match against the Western Bulldogs at the MCG on Friday night.

Go Hughesy you good thing.

Also mentions McKenzie and Johnson returning with Joel Mac and Martin left out.

How far away is Gysberts from getting a game?:)
Form has been good without demanding a game, played his best game last week. Is probably the next midfielder in line so only needs an injury. Could be as soon as next week, but then again Morton's return brings another midfielder back into the fold, Bail should be back as well, Jetta and Wonaeamirri are building form. Too hard to put an exact time frame on it.
