Has the 3 ruckman policy failed in the past because of the absolute crap supply and Naitanui being out of form/immobile?

Now we see our midfield winning the contested ball, but also moving it fast through the corridor and kicking it lace out to leading forwards + Naitanui is moving and playing very well.

Could it keep working and be our dangerous point of difference come finals?

I think the 3 rucks only worked last week because of Lycetts form. He was able to play almost the entire game in that forward line and was the dominant forward all day. Usually that can't happen because our forwards are crippled through poor delivery or a truckload of other issues.

When Cox is rotated forward these days, he's rendered pretty much useless, because he rarely actually attempts to jump at a marking contest and decides to milk a free instead. He's also a good 8 years older then Lycett so his chasing ability is pretty poor. If Simmo can manage to rotate Lycett and Nic through the ruck/forward and keep Cox to the Ruck/bench I think it might be more effective.

Bottom line, keep Cox out of the forward line.

I tend to think so.

Glad Cox was retained so that if he retires next week he'll finish on 290 rather than 289 games. :drunk: Not sure why it bothered me but I needed it to be even.

I really hope Watson isn't match fit, he's a danger man as can go forward as well as dominate in the middle.
Have some great tickets for the match, extremely pumped for this one.

It's also opening day of the premier league - depending on how the results fall could be the greatest or worst day ever.

The dons have lots of run and not much height - looks like they will try to run us off our feet, and we will stretch them for height ... interesting if we line up that way. Cripps at half back is interesting too if it eventuates that way - would give us more run off half back, I guess.
Can't wait for Saturday ... this is the big one for us to date. Must win!

Well
Can we confirm the confirmation please?

I'm still a bit wary that it may be misinformation.

They can have carlisle if we get lecca :(.

We surely won't be more fatigued than essendon is now, they always do poorly in the tail end of the season.

Go eagles.

Final word

Whether or not Essendon's misfiring forward line can kick a decent score could well decide this match.

While the Bombers defence has been sound in recent weeks, Essendon had another disappointing forward-50 conversion rate against Richmond last weekend.

The Bombers only managed to score 38.6 per cent in all of their forward 50 entries.

Holding the key to improvement is Jake Carlisle who would love to repeat his six-goal performance from the last time he played at Etihad Stadium.

Fellow tall Joe Daniher, who's been flimsy at times this year, will want to make a statement after his performance in his first game back from a cracked shoulder.

West Coast's strength is in the midfield. <<<<<<<<<<

Matt Priddis is Mr Reliable in that department.

The trouble is that his younger team-mates such as Andrew Gaff, Chris Masten, and Luke Shuey habitually struggle to perform when playing interstate.

The Eagles have had a roller-coaster season, we think they're about to dip again.

Bombers to win by 12 points.

I cant see Bunga getting off the chain 3 weeks in a row , Thompson aint that silly, most of our half back thrusts start with the ball in his hands , Bunga will definately have someone hanging off his boot straps, Cripps may be used as the release instead....only a hunch but depends how fast we move the ball , Its a small ground , the game will be won or lost on Bungas involvement ( hes the most damaging half back/ wing in the league & Buckleys bad coaching prooved leaving this man free was his teams down fall)
